 A new Appointee has been picked by Obama to lead the "Free Tuitions for Illegal Aliens" program. Her name is simply "Shakira".
She's some kind of celebrity. Her statement was, when she was introduced, "Mexico has a poverty problem that is fueled by poor education." She went on to state her theory that if we educate them here they will go back and make Mexico an intelligent Nation because education breeds a better country. She's right about that. From there she's wrong. How could she think that anyone in their right mind is going to take their education back to Mexico when the land of opportunity is here?
   The American taxpayer is not in the position to give free Tuitions to anyone because of the condition of our economy right now. For the time being at least, Mexico needs to solve their own problems until we solve our own. Obama's one of them.
   It's not the responsibility of the United States to improve the education of Illegal aliens free of charge for the purpose of improving Mexico's condition. THEY AREN'T GOING BACK!!! Why would they?
   First of all, the Mexicans in this country aren't exactly poor. They display work capabilities in an intensity unequalled by the average american worker. They're pleased as hell to be here either legally or illegally. Although a lot of them do work for minimum wage, they think nothing of working 2 jobs in the course of one day. They do the menial jobs that are shunned by others, but if you talk to the long timers whose parents migrated here years ago, they got their education by paying their own tuitions. Just like we all had to. There's a lot of people of all races out there working for minimum wage. Restaurant workers who work for minimum wage and have to depend on the taxpaying customers for their tip money, just to name a few.
   Obviously she thinks it's free. It's not. The colleges and Universities still get their money. Except our generous Administration is paying for it while the bulk of our college age kids are taking Sabaticals or leave from  educational facilities because they can't afford to pay tuition fees.
   We underestimate the resilliance of the Mexican Immigrants. I have no objection to them being here  for educational means. But because of their work ethics they are no poorer that the average legal American. They're here! Legally or illegally. But let them acquire education without fear of being sent back to Mexico.  Let them pay their way like the rest of us. They'll do it and they'll be proud to achieve it. They may have to also delay their education plans along the way too. So be it. Don't deny them the opportunity. The Mexicans that have worked alongside me always more than proved their worth, and they made productive tax paying dollars while doing it.
   If the economy doesn't allow for legal Americans to get their tuitions paid and they have to delay their education for a while, then let everybody suffer the same consequences. Let them enjoy the fruits of their labor when times are good, but they need to suffer the hard times when they come like the rest of us. The Immigrants that built this nation didn't get a free ride. They did what they had to do.
   I'm learning to know these people. They're good family oriented folks who only want to be like the rest of us. I feel privileged when they invite us into their home. We need them to remind us of our own forgotten family values that have been lost along the way in the last few decades.   Just sayin'.
