One time in our lives, we ran in those days,
bound to finish a task, in our all-fired way
We ran to do things, we ran like the dickens
Hurry up and get done, then feed the chickens.
We ran to the store, to get stuff for Mother
And forgot the list, one blaming the other
We had to run home, She promised us candy
Then back to the store, the gum tasted dandy
But now here we are, far on in our years
We check on ourselves, to lay away fears
And then we will wonder, will the kids be back
And wonder if did they take the wrong track?
So heed this my friends, when voting day breaks
Head for the poll booth, Worth the time it takes Walk slowly, don't run, you want to be clear,
you don't vote some jackass, in office this year!
