After having lived through several different eras in two different countries, namely Canada and the U.S., I want to attempt to describe the evolution and differences of the political parties over the past decades.
I was born in 1936 just as the world was on it's way back into economic normalcy after the Great Depression. However, the larger more populated areas of the countries were faster in their recovery than the less populated, more remote towns and villages.
Coal mining and logging was the mainstay of our little town of Fernie, B.C., Canada, and even the most stable of families weren't exactly well off. In my family's case however, we were unfortunate in the respect that with 11 children, (8 boys and three girls), and me being the tenth child and the youngest of the boys, my wonderful, strong mother of second generation german descent was left alone most of the time.
This was because our father was very seldom home. When he was, it seemed like it was only long enough to leave again.
He was a Veteran of the 1st world war and was affected by it to the point that he never really recovered from it.
In 1939 Canada was back to war with Germany on behalf of Britain, and he was gone again along with 2 of my older brothers until 1946 when the war was finally over. That is really the time when our personal depression began to improve.
T.V. was invented but arrived 10 years after the more populated areas of the country had it. There was a Socialist party at that time that was quite popular in those days because they claimed to be in favor of the common working man. Their poularity only really thrived for a short time,1932 until 1946 or so and then it wained because they couldn't fulfill there promises. Their name was something like "The Canadian Confederation of Socialists" or "C.C.F. Party".
After the 2nd world war ended, the cold war with the U.S.S.R. began. Communism became our cold war enemy! The Communist inspired Socialist meetings continued to be held in secret until 1967, when they re-emerged as "The New Democratic Party" or "The N.D.P". That party exists in Canada today. This time it aligned itself with various other groups such as the Labor Unions, Environmentalists, the homosexual groups, the teachers unions, the AFl-CIO and the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (or C.B.C. Radio and Television Co. of Canada).
Labelled a "Crown Corporation", it's Currently owned by the Queen of England herself.
Under that façade, they elevated themselves into and out of power over the years Provincially and Federally and while in power, passed controversial laws and regulations that exist today that never would have passed here because we are protected from such rules and regulations
by our U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Eg. Chastising Homosexualism will land you in jail in Canada.
This is why we need to preserve our basic rights here in the States to protect ourselves from the same kind of punishment for Freedom of speech. Just sayin'.

JUST SAYIN'.
“ Let me just say this;”
There is a certain political Socialist agenda group I have been watching lately, and some of their habits used in interviews and debates with the interviewer and or political opponents have become glaringly obvious to me.
It's very effective, by the way. It should also be obvious to the people reading this particularly to the interviewer or particular party. They won’t allow themselves to be cornered or embarrassed by the question at hand as important as it is to be answered with a simple “yes" or "no”. Its referred to as fillibustering. They all handle it the same way;
"I’ll answer that question but first let me say this,” "As much as you’re right that what we’re doing may be wrong, let me point out that the previous administration of George W. Bush was doing the same thing”. (a huge smile is then displayed for 5 seconds followed by a stunned silence from the other party.) “But you need to answer the question , Sir or Madam. Is it yes or no? Please answer the question!” “ If you quit interrupting me, I’ll answer you in due time. Next question please.” The interviewer embarrassingly goes on with the next question in disgust. Instead of insisting that he or she answer the question, (The socialist has gotten away without answering the question.) No one seems to realize there is only a certain amount of time to respond before the next question must be asked. The Socialist has just gotten a pass that allows him or her to avoid a well deserved scolding

The question really is, if it was bad then, what justifies it as being okay now? Is there hypocrisy here?.
Watch closely in the future because every socialist politician and professional supporter does it. They have obviously conspired to do it and are coached to do it that way. Just sayin’.
