THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE, DARLENE HOEZEE

For your Att. LORD.
A friend of ours' left us,  to join you Tuesday.
She knew you were waiting, to take her away.

The odds were against her, she fought from the start
With all the strength in her, with all of her heart.

Determined she was too. No doubt about that
to be independent, though a wheelchair she sat.

I used to sit with her in Starbucks to chatter.
Her body was frail, Lord, but that didn't matter.

For her, speech was hindered, but we didn't care,
Her mind was so sharp, She made up for it there.

She loved being sat with, by friends who passed by,
And she liked a joke too, by the look in her eyes.

The Baristas all loved her, and help her they would.
But she helped herself too, as much as she could.

So Lord when she gets there, see that she gets wings,
She won't need her wheelchair to help you do things.
Be sure to serve Darlene a good Starbuck's brew, And see that she's happy, like we used to do.
