At the age of 13, and coming from a large family of 8 boys and 3 girls, with me being the youngest boy, I learned to duck and dodge quite skillfully. Since our Father was always gone and forever irresponsible, the oldest boy in the family who was still at home, assumed the position of Patriarch. My mother was so busy trying to keep up with feeding and clothing us, that she felt the oldest boy should be in charge. It worked quite well, actually.
The 4H club had established a boxing club in West Fernie and being a natural born weaver and a bobber by necessity, I joined it. It turned out quite well for me. In the period of a year, I did top of my weight division, locally. It was a good confidence booster for me in the respect of knowing I could handle myself as good as the next kids who were almost all better off than we were, having a father at home and all. Not to say there was anything wrong with the kids I grew up with. It just made me feel more of an equal to them, and that's all I really wanted to be. I was never the person who wanted to beat somebody up, just to defend myself when I felt I had to. To this day, I love them all without exception, and dream of sometime seeing them all again. However, that's not likely, since I hear half of them are gone now, bless their hearts. But I can dream, can't I? And I sometimes do!
Back to my story.
At the age of 14, I was in Grade 8, and like a lot of other kids that age, I was wishing I was anywhere but in class. The good thing about it though, was there were a lot of big kids on our Junior boys basketball team that year, and we were winning most of the games played against the other schools in the East Kootenay School District. This was a real triumph to us, because when it came to sports in previous years, we were at the lower end of the ratings. For once this was different and we were enjoying our short but sweet championship season. In fact after we played and won a regular season game against the bigger town of Kimberley, B.C., I got my name in the Kimberley Newspaper as the star of the game with 10 points. Being an exceptionally big boy for my age at 6 ft. and 185 lbs., I was pumped! Boy, did I think I was good!
We were the high school heroes, even if it was a rare year where we won more games than we lost. The Senior High team was a different story. They were suffering more losses than wins.
It caused the inevitable but seldom event to happen. The Seniors challenged the Juniors to an exhibition game after school hours, to be played in front of a crowd of students who were willing to stay long enough after school to be spectators. Since it wasn't an official game, and with the general assumption the Seniors would walk over us, not many showed up. Anyway the game started with a whistle by the two opposing coaches who played a duel roll of coach/referees.
It was a surprisingly close game after the first 2 quarters with the Seniors only being a few points ahead of us. Close enough that it caused us to realize we could win this thing! The coach mentioned that to us and after great words of encouragement and a "Rah,Rah,Rah," sent us back out there.
Darned if we didn't pull ahead with a succession of quick baskets. The frustration at the thought of losing began to show on the Seniors as we maintained our lead into the 4th quarter. We began to expand the lead towards the end of the game and they retaliated by getting rougher and tougher. They couldn't score a basket if their life depended on it. A pushing match between me and the other Center eventually turned into a fist fight, at which time the other Center was helped off the floor by his teammates, and me being escorted to the dressing room by the two coaches, all the while threatening suspensions to both of us. We had all left the Gym, all the while hurling insults at each other, and not finishing the game. I went home, kicking rocks and wishing I hadn't handled it that way.
The animosity was short lived, however, with all concerned shaking hands before class the next morning at the coaxing of the two coaches. No suspensions were handed out, either. "All's well that ends well" was a remark we all consented to.
Baseball was the next event in my life that involved basically the same participants, being a small town and all, and because of that, if you could walk, talk and run, you were included to play.
It was back in 1950 when the sports were for the fun of it as well as the desire to win. The desire to win, of course, is always there, but it wasn't always the case as it is now. For example, in Peewee and Juvenile hockey, we were required to play a small town of Bellevue, Alta. They had a Semi-Pro hockey team in their town called the Crow Coalers that played in the WHL hockey league. If you were selected from such a team as this, You were in the NHL. You didn't get much better than that! My town of Fernie, B.C. had no such caliber of hockey to watch that came anywhere close to that. As a result, I remember one game where we were beaten by the Bellevue Peewees by a score of 21 to 1.
The only thing credited with saving the humiliation was the free for all fight that took place at the end of the game. We won!!
The great thing about those days was, though, the animosity never left the arena. We were always treated by the Rotary club or the Gyros to a nice lunch or dinner after the game, at which time we were all friends again. We didn't allow it to ruin the relationship that was maintained between friends. Whenever running into a previous foe from past years, it was, and still is, a great pleasure to behold.
It was the same in any of our sports, including baseball.
I remember being pretty good at fielding the ball, a little wild at throwing the ball, and exceptionally good at tossing the ball in the air and batting it out to the fielders during practice sessions. Their main complaint was that I was batting the ball too hard, and they had to crawl over the Home-run fence to retrieve it. But I had little experience at actually being pitched to in a game.
Anyway, we were playing an inter-league game in which a lad named Alan Cairns, was pitching on the opposite team. Alan was an exceptionally large boy for a 17 year old, 6' 6'' in height and about 200 lbs. He was already known, when at bat, for breaking windows in the School that was well beyond normal batting range for the rest of us. He was a natural born athlete at anything he did and I believe, even today if given the chance, he would have dominated any sport, bar none. Instead he choose to go to work in the Coal mines shortly after Graduation, and I believe he spent his life in Fernie, if he in fact, still lives.
It came my turn at bat, and I proudly walked up to the plate, fully sure I was going to make myself proud. Alan wound up and with a high kick, fired the ball. Like a deer caught in the headlights, I was mesmerized by it and just watched helplessly as it careened off my head. Down I went, with my head spinning like a top and a headache that I never again experienced in my lifetime.
As I laid there on the ground, I could here Frankie Lynch, the next batter up, laughing uncontrollably in the background. The players helped me up to my feet and over to the player's bench. As I was sitting there holding my head, I watched as Frankie got up to bat. He took that typical batter's stance in a 3/4 crouch, looking as though he was gonna smack that ball right out of the park!
Alan wound up once again, high professional kick as well, and fired that ball like a bullet. It was wide and on the inside, so much so that it bounced off the cheek of Frankie's bubbly ass with a thud that the whole crowd could hear, followed by a holler that should be in the records to this day. As he crawled around on the grass, one hand clutching his butt, I laughed until I could finally see straight.
The pain in my head was gone for an instant as I took complete pleasure in what I had just seen. I'll bet Frankie remembers it to this day, too! At least I hope he does.
The coach must have thought, "Somebody could get hurt, here!!" because he pulled the pitcher after that episode. I was never able to stand confidently at the plate again, so I wasn't included in the roster, anymore. I still loved the game, but my noodle said it wasn't for me. However, there was still plenty of room for other sports.
Right around the same time of year, Fernie High School had the good fortune of employing a Physical Education teacher by the name of Lorne Carroll. Lorne at the time was 24, and currently the distinguished 440 champ of the Province of Saskatchewan. He had recently played with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders prior to arriving in Fernie. He was a tall, muscular fellow with a very pleasant disposition. We all welcomed him to the school and enjoyed being under his direction in summer sports. His favorite athletic excercise for us in gym class was touch football. Since the School couldn't afford to equip us with the proper equipment at the time, it was more appropriate to touch someone carrying the ball, ending the play, rather than tackling. His favorite play was to stand in the end zone with the ball cradled in his forearm, place us in our various defensive positions, and then attempt to thread his way through the maze of players without being touched. He made it successfully a lot of times.
It was a good introduction sport and I got to like it a lot. I have always wished I had been able to go on and play the actual sport, but our time with Lorne was cut far too short.
An incident happened one day on the playing field, when Lorne suddenly went to his knees with a tremendous pain in his back. He had a look of misery on his face as we all had a hand in helping him off the field. After resting on a bench for a while, he recovered fully it seemed, and we went on with our practice, although he didn't participate and instead, coached us from the sidelines. The next day we were told that Lorne was on his way back to Saskatchewan on medical leave and would be back after treatment. A couple of weeks passed and it was sadly announced to the whole school in assembly one morning, that Lorne Carroll had passed away suddenly of Heart failure. There were a lot of tears that day, from Seniors, Juniors and teaching staff alike. We'd never be seeing him again!
It was a shock that no one had expected, but it explained the sudden back pain he had suffered earlier.
That ended the dream for all of us that, some day there would be a regular Football League in Fernie and the surrounding towns in the East Kootenays. With nobody to pick up his lead, it was gone.
School let out for the summer and it was time to find a summer job.
I was contacted by a school friend, who was already out for the summer a month and a half early, due to having over a 90% average throughout the school term. He didn't need to write the final exams as a result. (How I wished I was that smart.) He was working with a Topographical Survey Company contracted to the Federal Gov't. The job was mapping the Upper Elk Valley region of the Rocky Mountains, including the creeks rivers, valleys and mountain ridges to the beginning of their sources at the top of the Range. We were assisted by Aerial photography done a few years earlier by the Canadian Air force.
The camp we worked out of was an arrangement of Surplus Army tents complete with cook shack and kitchen. There were 10 men total including the cook. The cooking was fabulous to say the least. The creek was our wash up spot in the mornings and we were high enough up in elevation that, even in the summer, we had to crack the thin layer of ice that would form during the night around the edges of the creek. We were awakened every morning by the triangular cook shack bell as a warning to get ready for breakfast, and everyone headed for the frosty creek to splash water on our faces and hands before breakfast. That woke us up, believe me!
We were fortunate enough to be camped across the creek from the farthermost Ranch owned and operated by Bob McGinnis, a professional Guide and Outfitter. Every year he had dedicated groups of american hunters that he patronized at the ranch while his Cowboy guides led them by horseback on hunting expeditions during the hunting season. He had about a dozen horses with nothing to do but graze on the rich grass of the Rockies during the summer. We were there during the slack time so he would rent them to us for $1.00 an evening. His hired help, Professional cowboys with not a lot to do in the off season except rodeos once in a while, would stage little mini rodeos with the horses on hand and do roping and barrel racing etc. Other times, they would take us on pack trails that led up into the most beautiful hunting areas you could imagine. Looking back now, It was a once in a lifetime experience that has lasted a lifetime. The high, meadows, spotted with patches of stunted trees, were a place to dream of.
Back at the ranch near one of the corrals, was parked an old fashioned roadster that was in great condition, but had a big old rope tied to the front bumper. It was a beautifully designed car and we had never seen anything like it before. There were spare wheels mounted on the wells in the front fenders with chrome covers. It was a front wheel drive and an automatic transmission. the little shift mechanism was mounted in the middle of the steering wheel. Apparently an electric shift. It was a 1936 Chord and the last manufactured of it's kind. The reason given was that Chord Co. was too far ahead of it's time. The automobile world was simply not ready for it yet, and it was too expensive for it's time, also. The other, more popular cars were less expensive and needed more for local transport than luxury. In order for the car companies to compete, they had to produce a more affordable mode of transportation. It would be thirty odd years before front wheel drive would be popular again.
When I asked why it had the rope tied on it , they said some American hunters came to the ranch in it, and it broke down. They did their hunting, left and never came back for it. It had been towed in by a team of the ranch's horses.
The job we were sent to do ended in mid summer and they kept us long enough to help tear down the camp before laying us off. It was a memorable and interesting adventure for the two of us, and a great time to reflect back on. Most of the money I made went to my mother for family purposes. None the less, I was a happy Camper and the yearning to become an adult was in progress.

U.S.SUPREME COURT AND THE OBAMA HEALTH CARE LAW.

(Note the date this blog was written)
The biggest concern aside from the Unemployment situation is no doubt, the legality of the controversial Obama Healthcare law that goes into effect on January 1st of 2012.
I heard a news report where they reported the Supreme Court will make a decision as quickly as June of 2012. I guess that all depends on how we interpret the word "quickly" is.
This is a law that's going to affect literally all of the recipients who are presently on, or are going to soon be on, Medicare. This is a law that's allowing a left leaning, Secondary Ins. Broker to reap the billions of dollars in profit from people who are FORCED to provide their own Secondary insurance whether they like it or not!! (Secondary Ins. provides for paying part of the 20% that Medicare doesn't pay on Medical bills.) That Broker goes by the name of "AARP". Which consequently, allows AARP to donate more of the profit to the great Obama machine for the 2012 General election. Get it??
The legality of this Bill is flawed according to an Amendment in the Constitution that protects the consumer from being forced to buy any commodities by any Gov't institution. Or something similar to that.
This is a bill that was "rammed" down our throats by a Democratic Congress who, at the time couldn't even tell the rest of Congress what the particulars were in the Bill. A Bill 2700 pages long that, when eventually was read, couldn't be satisfactorily understood anyway, because of the many conflicting regulations in it. And they did it behind closed doors, barring the Republicans from even participating in the decision due to the "Closed Doors"!!
Meanwhile, there's a fortune being made by AARP and it's coveted Ins. Co.'s by them advertising that it's definitely going to happen on January 1st, and those who haven't purchased the Secondary Insurance are going to be fined by the Federal Gov't for not doing so. (What a boom that is for the Insurance Companies!) Having admitted he invited AARP to sit down with him to design Obamacare in the first place, he simply invited the Fox to design the henhouse. Isn't that neat???
All this, even though it's being considered to be, and most likely will be, Unconstitutional. Meaning then, that anyone having been coersed into purchasing the insurance under false pretenses, can demand their money back. Right??
So because of this being so important to the masses in this country, why isn't the Supreme Court making this a top priority on their schedule? The excuse that they're too busy with other matters doesn't fly with me!! Nothing could be more important to the American people right now than this is.
So they need to place this matter ahead of anything else that's on their plate.
Leaving their decision until June only complicates the matter and allows AARP and it's friends to reap the profits of selling more insurance for another six months.
Do I smell a rat, here? I mean, if it looks like a rat, and smells like a rat, it probably is a rat, right??
Here's what could happen if it's allowed to go until June; Obama and his allies think that if it is allowed to go into effect on Jan. 1st, and stays in effect for six months, the electorate will have accepted it by then, and it would be too complicated to change it as well. The Supreme Court could also want to sweep it under the rug, considering the turmoil and confusion it would cause if they reversed it, and the count could then go from 5 to 4 in favor of repeal to 4 to 5 in favor of repeal. Obama wins!!!
Will the law be suspended until June by the Supreme Court? Why wouldn't they, and why haven't they? And why hasn't the congress put a blocker on this onslaught of sales by AARP and their friends?
Just Askin'.

MY NON SIDED VIEW ON SELECTING A POLITICIAN TO VOTE FOR.
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
When first entering adulthood, it's always a great feeling to become eligible to vote. A feeling of freedom to express your preferences in a new world of "one man, one vote." You're now equal to every other voter who qualifies to sign his name under his favorite candidate.
Keep in mind always, that no matter how well off you are, or how poor you are, you always have the equal opportunity to vote! Voting is the one time you're just as valuable as anyone else.
That's the beauty of a true Democratic Republic, when you can truly attempt to elect the representative that promises to help run the Government the way you prefer it being done. Remembering though, one representative can pass nothing, create nothing without the help and agreement of the rest of the legislative assembly or it's elected Leader. Be it City, County, State or Federal. Their power is limited to what they recommend and goes no farther if the majority disagrees. They become Salesmen trying to sell their ideas to another salesman. It can be as simple or as complicated as that!
This is where you enter the picture, as far as understanding politics is concerned.
Beware of the politician who says he or she, if elected is going to change things as though they're the only power to decide what's going to change. It's simply not that easy. It depends on how good a salesperson they are, and how reasonable and sincere they are in their presentation to the other elected salespersons. No individual is going to accomplish much of anything alone, and when they promise they're going to, beware of that politician, because he or she isn't telling you the truth. I'll personally only vote for them if they sincerely say they'll try.
Once they become seasoned Politicians,(Salespersons), they are now in a position to sell their beliefs to you. (The tables have turned now, haven't they?) It goes without saying! Most of them are guilty of it, regardless of political party. Unfortunately they're now speaking for the other influences they have met since entering office, The special interest groups who have the money to back them in the next election. ( It has now turned from sincerity to monetary value). Wink, wink!
Now it's up to you to determine who's telling you the whole truth, and how much of what they tell you is the "real" truth. this is a little more difficult to determine, since they're all guilty of masking the real facts when it suits their purposes. But you can protect yourself to the degree of determining who's telling the least lies, by researching a lot of the "facts" on the internet. Even then, you have to keep in mind who placed it there.
You can tell this by being honest with yourself first of all! Human's have a tendency, if they like someone enough, to allow themselves to be lied to even though in their heart, they know the politician is being insincere in order to cover for himself or herself, or another politician of the same party. It happens all the time. The secret is to decide who is lying the least, that's all.
I have made my own determinations only after I found the News channel that I know gives me ALL the news rather than just part of it. If you're living in the U.S., It's "FOX NEWS."
If you're a new voter, you might be wise to review the "U.S.Constitution" and the "Bill of Rights". In my estimation it's vitally important that you do that. The reason I say this, is because in the past decade there has been a tendency to ignore it to satisfy the wants of "Special Interest" groups. However, in the past three years, It's gone from a "tendency" to a full fledged assault on people's rights by misuse of those two all important documents. I believe it's now a "desire" by these groups to change the meaning and content of them to suit their own aims and needs regardless of how it affects the rest of the "Silent Majority" population.
The "Wall Street" protesters are the garbage end of the Special Interest Groups, who use them as a tool to disrupt what little Democratic Republic we have left.
My advice to new voters is to make an honest attempt in determining who's REALLY telling you the truth before you put your mark by their name.
Don't vote for anyone who would spend this Great Country into monetary oblivion. Chaos is a weapon on their side and if you watch the news on Fox, they'll explain to you what the outcome will be. Just sayin'.

SHOULD WE RECOMMEND OUR DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSMEN TAKE A COURSE IN HERMAN CAIN MATH?
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com

My wife gives me hell because I pay so much attention to Politics these days. She really does have a point from her perspective, no doubt about it. And I'd like to,as well. But I just can't, as long as I can't accept the methods in which the "Seminar" Liberals do their "Fuzzy" math.
I heard a Democratic Congressman being interviewed this morning by Chris Wallace, at which time he said, "By withdrawing all troops from the fields of war that have been fought up til now, we can consider that a savings in our reserves for the future." There is no reserve, stupid!!
The money that was spent up until now was money we never had to save in the first place, for goodness sake!! It was borrowed to begin with. It's not a savings! It needs to be paid back no matter what! It can't be deducted as a "savings" in the future budget that in fact, is actual dollars we'd like to spend on other stuff later on. The budget is going to cost whatever dollars we intend to spend anyway.
He tried to make it look like it could be subtracted from the future budget being planned on.
Also, in an interview on a different subject later on, Juan Williams remarked that there were no Democrats in the Wall St. protesters. I would like to clarify that as well.
There are plenty of "Used to be" Democrats in the Tea Party. There are just no Democrat/Socialists in the Tea Party. And I'm sure the Tea Party people don't want any, either. The Democratic/Socialists and the rest of the "have always been bums" belong to the the so-called "Wall St." protesters. Most of them out there breaking windows and burning cars, are Obama supporters who are hoping for a soft job or a free handout from the next Obama administration. The rest are, and always have been, disillusioned and professional bums, all of which are realizing the fear of Obama not getting re-elected.
Barack Obama is spurring them on because he needs their votes.
He isn't lying to us anymore, but he isn't lying to us any less, either. Just sayin'.

DID YOU EVER SEE SEAGULLS HATCH THEIR BABIES? I DID, FIRST HAND

In 2007, my oldest daughter, Leslie Kim, was diagnosed with Leukemia. She was 47 and had just finished raising her children in a couple of towns in B.C. called Creston, and then later, Vernon, B.C.
It was a disastrous diagnosis, just when she was ready to start enjoying life on her own. She was as close to being a Mother Hen to her family of 3 sons,Evan, Cory and Brandon, as anyone could be expected to.
She had established a career as a Court Clerk and after freeing herself from marriage, was ready for the world, except for what we termed later as a "Bump in the Road".
She was placed in a treatment center on the 14th floor of Vancouver General Hospital which was designated specifically for Cancer treatment and with a view that would be appreciated by all.
As her family and friends traveled from various towns to visit her, I was the closest one travel-wise to be able to visit her as often as I could, since I lived just across the Border from Vancouver, B.C. in Mt. Vernon, Wa.
I tried to visit her every day, in fact.
Her comfortable room had a big, bay window that looked out over an adjoining roof and after about 25 ft., a great view of the city beyond.
One day as I visited her, A male and female pair of Seagulls began building a nest on the far corner of the roof.
A 2 ft. stubwall surrounded the edge so the nest they were meticulously building was pretty well hidden away in the shadow of the wall and from the aerial view of Hawks, Eagles and other predators. The nest of scattered straw was then surrounded by cute little rocks and gravel in a circular pattern around it. The biggest rocks were probably as large as marbles.
Occasionally the male would fly away to return with food to give the hen as she sat on the nest. or to spell her off as she herself foraged for some.
Day by day as I visited, we would recall different, memorable things from the past to talk about as Kim received her treatments, all the while keeping a caring eye on the seagulls' peculiar behavior. To our surprise one day, the hen moved from the nest to reveal 2 eggs that were in the midst of the miracle of hatching. At that point she would not allow the male to go near them, as she guardedly watched the little chicks emerge from their sacred little birth place.
We watched it too! Under the circumstances, it was a beautiful feeling that although one life was in fear of being lost, two little tiny lives were entering the world!
They emerged from their delicate shells ,one right after the other. With their Momma being approximately 2 ft. away and on the opposite side of the rocks, the immediate instinct of the little duffers was to try to make it over the rocks, to where she patiently squatted while she watched.
They insistently tried their darnndest to maneuver to the Hen over those rocks on their wobbly little legs, it was a real tough choir, as they tumbled butts over tea kettle towards their mom. All the while being patiently watched by the Dad.
Finally one by one they struggled until they reached their Mom who, as they snuggled against her, gently lifted her wing to have them disappear as she lowered her wing once again. At that moment, a comforting feeling came over me and I knew in my heart my daughter was going to survive her ordeal, and she did. It turned out that she had the one kind of Leukemia that was considered environmentally related and was termed to be 80 % survivable. It was tremendously good news.
After what seemed as an eternity of days, Kim was released, and eventually allowed to go home. It was everyone's hope the chicks eventually grew up and flew away to a world of their own.
It's a story for me to reminisce over, and I still do. Just sayin'.

CANADIAN PENITENTIARY "PADDLE" PUNISHMENT SYSTEM
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
Up until as late as 1968, the sentence for a sex offender was sometimes a combination of several strokes of the paddle and a confinement sentence as well. As I recall, the punishment was enough, that many members of the Justice system claimed fewer sex offenses were committed after the paddle was administered.
There were various methods used, depending on the individual Institution. The main purpose, as it was explained to me, was to remind the perpetrator to think twice the next time he decided to pull his pants down.
The procedure was begun by bringing the prisoner into an area with what was referred to as "The Strapping Table". The table was equipped to raise or lower in accordance with the prisoner's height. There were leather retaining straps at the far end of the table and at the sides as well.
The prisoner was first blindfolded and then led over to the table where he was ordered to drop his own trousers. He was instructed to bend over and stretch his arms out towards the far end of the table. He was then strapped firmly to the table by the side straps, and then by legging straps so he was held solidly enough in place, that he couldn't possibly move. His hands and wrists
were then secured by the end straps, tight enough, that no movement was allowed there, either.
The "Strapping" was done by two different methods: manually, or by machine. I don't know if they were given a choice, but I understand that some prisoners who received it more than once said they couldn't define the difference, except to remark that they thought the human way seemed to be sadistically enjoyed far too much by the guy swinging the paddle.
The paddle was constructed such that it was approx. 2 to 2 1/2 ft. long, with the paddle end being 4 inches wide, flat and lined with rows of perforations in it, taking up about 1/2 the length.
Before the punishment started, a doctor would test the recipient's heart with a stethoscope to ensure there was no serious heart problem. Then, the punishment began. The procedure was so painful that only one stroke was given sometimes, and often only once a month. The perforations did lasting damage at times.
The swinging of the paddle was done by one of the burlier prison guards, and he received the rest of the day off and an extra gratuity as well, for his efforts.
The less expensive method was by machine, since it cost no more than just the operation of it.
It was a paddle mounted on a stand, with a strong spring that was cranked back a calculated distance from the prisoner's buttocks, then released.( I wonder if they wore ear plugs???)
The practice was eventually discontinued in 1968 due to it being considered unusually cruel punishment.
After hearing about the Penn. State incident, would you think it is? Just askin'.

THE CANADA OIL SANDS PIPELINE SUPPLY TO THE U.S.- ANOTHER EPA CREATED NIGHTMARE.
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
Canada has a tentative agreement to supply oil to the main Continent of the U.S.from the oil sands in Canada, by way of a pipeline from the Northern border to the Southern border of Mexico. A quick, long term step on the way to energy independence for the two countries. The EPA is holding up the whole affair by standing firmly in the way. They, in fact control the President right now, since he needs their votes to fulfill his quest for a 2nd term. That's why he has delayed his decision to permit the pipeline until after 2012 and the election. He's their puppet!
China has made a bid to Canada for the same oil. China is speeding up it's quest to buy all of the oil reserves that are available in the world, not only when it's supplied to them, but before it ever leaves the ground.
This would eventually permit China to control all of the oil and gas supplies in the entire world aside from OPEC. By that time, China might not give them a choice either.
Canada needs to start producing the oil as quickly as possible and would like to sell it to their neighbors rather than China. They need to stimulate their economy too. but they aren't so neighborly as to let there own coffers be empty when they can get a commitment and immediate cash from China.
Although the EPA knows all this, for the sake of the (!@#$%^&) environment, they intend to delay, without compromise, the pipeline being constructed.
Tens of thousands of jobs would be created by the project. Oil prices in the U.S. would become more stabilized. If it doesn't happen, we as a result, will still be handcuffed by OPEC to purchase their high priced oil!
Let's not kid ourselves, here! The intent of the EPA and all it's political allies, is to force this country into having no choice but to turn to alternative energy, and that's realistically not financially achievable considering the circumstances we are all in right now. Except for the employees with the EPA.
You see, they have managed to place themselves in a position of such importance right now, that they are indestructible, irremovable and irreplaceable. As a result, uncompromisable.
As I pointed out in a previous blog, they totally refuse to compromise. This Country is on the brink of economic disaster, AND THEY DON'T CARE!!!!
Even though the unions, who would desperately like to put their members to work are requesting them to allow this, THEY DON'T CARE!!!
Yesterday, The Canadian Energy Secretary announced they have begun talks with China and definitely will commit their oil to them, if the EPA doesn't very soon agree to the pipeline.
The Federal Gov.t needs to temporarily suspend the abusive powers of the EPA, and let this take place. Where on earth did the backbone disappear to when it comes to the EPA?
It's time we told them what they CAN'T do at a crucial time like this. Just sayin'.

RATIONING OF AMERICAN CARS DURING WW2 1942----1946. AND WHAT"S HAPPENED SINCE.
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
No American or Canadian cars were produced between 1942 and 1946. Here's why;
On Jan. 1st,1942, while I was still 5 years old, both the U.S. and Canada were fully embroiled in WW2 and metals of any kind were in high demand because of it. This resulted in a rationing system that included basic staples such as butter, sugar and several other commodities that we, as Americans and Canadians, had been taking for granted. Car production of any sort, was halted due to the demand for production of military armor and transportation vehicles. It kept the transportation industry plenty busy producing the equipment so desperately needed for the war effort.
After the "freeze" was established on car production, The manufacturers were only allowed to produce vehicles for military, Gov't and certain other war related Agencies. They were given access to the "stockpile" the car companies were allowed to keep producing.
The toy manufacturers also became involved, in the respect of being able to convert their toy producing methods into weapons production in the matter of one day in some cases. I understand they played a large roll in the manufacturing of war related goods because of their ability to do this.
A little known fact was the retention of salvaged "points" that were commonly used in ignitions for gas engine vehicles. By law they had to be saved for the Tungsten ingredient that was so badly needed in the war effort.
The most popular vehicle for passenger use, was the 1941 Plymouth P-11, 4 door Sedan. It was widely used by the Military for general transport throughout the war years. It came with an 87 hp, 6 cylinder engine and a 3 speed, low ratio, manual transmission. Being a four door, it also had the "suicide" back doors. They had a tendency to be dangerous, because if they were opened while travelling, the wind would slam them wide open and create a suction strong enough to pull a smaller person out.
I remember getting a ride in one of those and someone slamming the door on my fingers, "OUCH".
Chrysler did well during the war years with that car, and the gazillion Jeeps they produced as well.
The "Big Three", which Chrysler, General motors and Ford became known as, thrived in the years following WW2. Production of civilian vehicles started again in 1946.
Greedy for profits though, they began outsourcing many parts to be made cheaper somewhere other than the North American continent. Their profits increased but the quality and longevity of those parts went down, causing an increased repair cost to the consumer. But who really cares about the consumer?? The people who converted to the Japanese vehicles that arrived in 1958, that's who!!
Toyota and Nissan stepped up to the plate and what's more, the longevity of their parts were much superior. I don't see where there's going to be much improvement in the near future, either. Sure, the "Big Three" are displaying all the latest in technology, but who's going to be able to afford to replace the components once the warrantees expire? What's that you say?? OH!!! China to the rescue. I got it!!
Just sayin'.

A HUMMINGBIRD SHORT STORY.
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
In 1955, I was working with a survey crew in B.C. for the Dept. of highways. It involved highway construction along Moyie Lake, approx. 20 miles south of the small city of Cranbrook. We were rebuilding a stretch of highway that required fill material to be placed partially into the lake due to the opposite side of the road being very steep and mountainous, with little or no room for expansion.
Before this could take place we had to know just how much crushed, or blasted rock would be needed. That mean't of course, taking soundings quite a ways out from shore, at right angles to the road.
This amounted to the use of a small skiff to get us out far enough to drop a measuring chain into the areas where the fill material was to be placed.
At this particular part of the lake, the width of the body of water was several miles across.
In the midst of taking the soundings, I noticed a beautiful, multicolored humming bird floating on it's back and desperately trying to flap it's wings. It was within arms reach, and I gently slipped my hand into the water and lifted the little creature out. It lay on it's back for a short while in the palm of my hand, as though it was resting before attempting to fly away.
To my surprise it suddenly fluttered furiously, all the while on it's back. It slowed down, then stopped entirely. Unfortunately it passed away right then.
I didn't know why it died, but I at least thought I would take it ashore where it would want to be. I rowed to shore and laid it gently on the soft ground. Then I went back to finish my work.
Over many years, I reflected back to the that little bird, with the wonder in mind as to why it passed away like it did. Then one evening recently, I was watching a National Geographic documentary on different types of birds. One section was about Hummingbirds, and the way they achieved their flight. It explained how hard they had to flap their wings to stay in the air. Because of their build and the shortness of their wings, it requires an enormous amount of energy to stay in flight. As a result, they need to absorb food nectar almost continually. They cannot fly for an extended length of time over a large body of water. The story is still sad to me but at least I know the reason the little critter didn't make it home.
I wonder. Is there possibly a lesson to be learned here? If there is, I knew a little hummingbird who would be pleased to know he or she didn't die in vain. Just sayin'.

THE CZARS OF OBAMA-SOMEONE TO TAKE THE HEAT, BUT NOT HIM.
Email me macgeo2345@hotspot.co
Read my blogs http:/ macgeo1234.blogspot.com
I have studied the actions of people all my life. Not necessarily because I want to, but simply because I'm compelled to! I don't know if I can explain it properly, but it might be by learning from some of my own imperfections.
Of course, if you let the Main Media have their way, Barack Obama doesn't have any,or so it seems.
Here's how I think he does it, thank goodness for "Fox News."
First of all, He's not an American as we see normal, everyday Americans. As a child, he was raised by white grandparents in Indonesia. They had a missionary purpose but yet allowed him to be raised a Muslim. Anything wrong with that picture so far? Eventually the family moved back to the U.S. where he claims to have converted to Christianity. But a weird kind. A kind that, led by the black Reverend Wright, preaches hatred towards the Whites and Jews of this United States of America. Faithfully, Barack listened to his volatile preachings of reverse racism. 25 years of it, whose latest proclamation was,"Not God Bless America, God Damn America."
Our President is definitely NOT a normal Ameican. He never, ever left his Muslim faith!
He knows what his own intentions and policies are, but he knows they are not part of the the Capitalistic American way we're all used to. He understands the methods in which we ran this country up until now. He knows how the Constitution works and what it means. He knows the laws of this Country that are based on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, because after all, he graduated from the University of Chicago plus a few other Ultra Liberal Universities, as a Magna Cum Laude. ("Man of great Praise") Truly an achievement to be proud of, normally. It can also be looked at by the folks determining the recipient of this honor, that if you're one of these, if you're not only smart, but express agreement with their philosophies of life, you're a winner. The Nobel Peace Prize Organization is a great example of this. If you're not in line with their European,Socialist way of thinking, YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET ONE, BUDDY!! In the case of the University of Chicago, the philosophies they teach lean toward Socialism and yes, even Communism. If you,re one of those, you just might get one. By the way, Obama got one!
Van Jones, an appointed Czar and close friend of Obama's and also a graduate of the University of Chicago, an avowed and admitted member of several communist organizations, is a great example of Obama's close, personal friends. But not to get away from my main point, here.
Obama has a technique commonly known as "Deflect the Blame". He surrounds himself with people who believe in his philosophy, are dedicated to his cause, and are willing to be labelled "Suicide Blunderers", when caught in their subversive actions. They are dedicated to this man to the point they will go down in flames, rather than place the blame on him. Don't kid yourself about these people!
Can anybody tell me what's "Apple pie" about this guy?
Barack Obama is a Sociopath with a mission, and he knows exactly what they're doing in every faucet of his Administration. But he has developed a "Teflon" coating to cover himself with, so he can micromanage what's happening from the safety of Air Force One, so to speak, and let his loyal Subordinates take the heat when something goes wrong, Such as "Solyndra", "Fast and Furious" and many more screw ups to come. They all say he didn't know, when I believe he inspired his loyal Regime to direct these deeds, but with the understanding that they do not implicate him. Eric Holder, for example. The Att. General of the United States, claims that Obama knew nothing about the "Fast and Furious " scandal. (The secret selling of thousands of automatic weapons to the Mexico Drug Cartel, of which two were used by them to kill 2 border Agents two months ago.)
He's wearing his "Magna Cum Laude" badge of honor in a most bizarre and misguided way to achieve his goal of becoming leader of the New World Order just as George H. Bush predicted he might if he played his cards right.
No honest, God loving person should be following or defending this man.
His following consists of people who are either athiests, (Marxists), misinformed or misguided victims of wrong information. And there's nothing worse than a misguided Christian! Just sayin'.

A TRAUMATIC STORY ABOUT A HAPPENING WHILE I WAS A CHILD.

Read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
When I was eight years old, things were a whole lot different in my home town of Fernie, B.C. Canada than they are today. This event took place during the ration book era of World war 2.
It was 1944, and Canada was deeply embedded in the war. We weren't even really out of the Great Depression because of the demand that was made on the Nation to supply it's troops overseas with food and supplies needed to repel the enemy onslaught on our Allies in Europe.
Canada hadn't even begun to feel the benefits of prosperity due to that added demand.
The good thing about it was the coal mines were operating around the clock, 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week to supply the coal demanded to produce the byproducts needed to fight the war.
We still had to keep the home fires burning with the coal fired stoves and furnaces.
The coke ovens were also going full steam to bake the coke (carbon) required for the strengthening and production of steel.
It was an era when Canada refined their own raw materials and provided finished products to the rest of the world in need. That's not the case today unfortunately, for the United States or Canada.
Instead of reaping the profits from all those finished products as we used to, the raw materials are principally shipped to other countries, bypassing the chances of any profits or employment to be created here in North America.
At the present, these nations have no production employment to go back to even when things do get better in the world. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out.
But back to those days in 1944, it was the era also of ration books for sugar, butter and a lot of necessary staples required to get by on.
Whenever our mother sent us to the store for groceries, the ration books would almost certainly be needed to go along too.
Our main general store was a large building in those day's standards called Trites Woods Co.
The grocery dept. was the busiest and most popular part where the operation by both employees and customers were totally different from the way they are now, in a small town at least.
when we entered the store the first thing we did was walk over to the counter with the list and hand it to the clerk behind the counter. Kind of like you see in the old western movies. We would then be expected to wait while the grocer would travel quickly around the store, gathering the stuff on the list.
It was usually a case of where there were 2 or 3 clerks travelling around, waiting on different customers.
I had noticed several times before when customers ahead of me were waiting for their clerk, they would reach over to the gum rack standing next to the counter, grab a package or two, and place them on the counter along with their other gathered goods. It was happening in front of me this day as well, so since my mother told me I could have a package of gum for running the errand, I decided to follow suit.
Unaware of anyone standing behind me, I reached for the gum and chose one. Before I could even reach to place it on the counter a large hand reached over my shoulder and grabbed my wrist! I realized it was the meat cutter from a different part of the store. "What do you think you're doing?" he demanded. Before I could answer, he continued. "You were going to steal the gum, weren't you??" All the while he kept squeezing my wrist. I wasn't given the chance to respond as he continued scolding me and threatening to call the police.
Finally another loud voice hollered "Let go of him NOW!!" There stood a big man named Rollie Crisaffio, a friend of our family's. He looked even bigger in his Army uniform. He had just gotten back from overseas and was home on leave. The meat cutter immediately let go. At that point, the clerk, who also knew my family, arrived back to defend me by assuring the meat-cutter I wouldn't be stealing anything.
I remember crying on the way home while chewing the gum that Rollie bought me, as well as giving me a quarter. What a hero he was to me!!
The meat cutter, whom I won't name, eventually was fired some years later for stealing meat from the same company. It takes a while sometimes, but I firmly believe "What goes around comes around."
Just sayin'.

WHY SHOULDN'T HERMAN CAIN SHOW A MAN SMOKING ON T.V.?
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com

There's a gigantic attempt to discredit Herman Cain for his Ad on T.V., showing his campaign manager taking a puff of his cigarette. Are you kidding me ??? For goodness sake!!
What's the difference between appealing to the smokers out there watching it and seeing someone outside the door of a business smoking a cigarette on any street at any time? Pick your time and street, they're there.
One out of five people in the U.S. smokes. Would you be keeping it a deep dark secret by not smoking on T.V? You watch a movie series of any kind almost, and they're puffing on a cigarette!
It's the nasty part of having the freedom as a Capitalist, a Communist, a Liberal Socialist or a religious person to smoke tobacco. The Gov't allows it, regardless of political beliefs. The Gov'ts make hundreds of billions of dollars from the taxes derived from smoking. Do you really think those taxes are a "Sin" tax as they claim? Don't kid yourself, their bottom line is money!! Just ask any politician who smokes. In between puffs, he or she will likely admit it. If they don't, do not re-elect that person!
IT'S NO SECRET!!! It's not a sin. It's simply an ad to tell people who do smoke to vote for a man who's willing to represent them as fairly as anyone who doesn't.
It does something else. It brings to the american people the realization of how hypocritical the biased folks are that criticize the ad. And boy, look around anywhere and you'll be seeing a hypocrite or listening to one. What a great ad! Hypocrisy is far worse in the regard that smoking principally harms no one but the smoker. Hypocrisy hurts us all. Its far more deadly. Look what Barney Frank puffs on!
You really set them up that time, Herman. Good for you and if you make it to the finish line with your complete honesty to everyone who smokes or doesn't smoke, and I'm not a smoker, you'll have my vote. Just don't allow yourself to be sucked in by the pundits you're talking to. Their bottom line is money they get paid for attracting the viewers, and they'll set you up to throw you under the bus as well. Few have much of a conscience when it comes to their livelihood.
It won't hurt your ratings when you ignore requests for interviews by some of them, either. We, as followers of your beliefs, understand their political ploys and will know why you say "No". Also, be vocal to them as to why you say "no". Their hidden agendas should never be allowed to remain that way. Just sayin'.

In one case, I was called by an elderly couple in their eighties who lived some 20 miles out of Mt. Vernon in a rural area, complaining they had plumbing leaks throughout their home. Being considered elderly myself, I tend to give other older folks a break on my charges, knowing they are probably on a fixed income. Such was the case here.
On a job like this one, I charge a fee for travelling time past 10 miles from my town. I explained this to the lady and also told her my hourly fee was $45.00 per hr. from the time I arrived at their home. It's normally less if it's in the city of Mt. Vernon. She readily accepted my terms, and because it was a serious plumbing leak, I postponed another scheduled job so I could get to it right away. ( We all know how much damage can occur from a water leak. (Which reminds me, I need more diapers!)
I arrived there to be greeted by a sweet old lady and her husband and she proceeded to show me the plumbing leaks. Virtually every source of water in their home had leaks of one kind or another so I proceeded to repair them one at a time. There were some defective parts, but a lot of them were loose connections and washers, a couple of replaced taps which I always carried just in case, and I completed the repairs in three and a half hours. It would have amounted to $157.50. plus $40.00 trip charge from and to Mt Vernon. Totaling $197.50 + $16.20 tax=$213.70. I threw out the cost of parts.
They had treated me like Royalty by pouring me a cup of coffee and offering a 2nd cup .
Then the inevitable question was asked,"How much do we owe you?"
After calculating the cost of what it normally would have been, I told them it was #213.70 but since they were so nice to me through all that, I reduced it to a flat $100.00 plus tax because of their age. She smiled, then laughed gleefully and wrote the check. I wondered about the humor as I drove away. I barely got home when the phone rang and I answered it promptly. It was her. She announced to me that all the plumbing was leaking again so she was cancelling the check. I knew it wasn't true since I know my work is better than that. It flashed through my mind to tell her she was next door to God anyway, so he'd probably fix the leaks and handle the expense part . I didn't though. Being mean back wouldn't have proven anything. I just told her to call some one more competent than I and hung up the phone. The check went into file #13 for future reference.
Imagine how high my price would be if I had to have malpractice Insurance. Tort reform I say!!

ENVIRONMENTALISTS, THE WORDS COMMON SENSE DO NOT EXIST IN THEIR LANGUAGE ANYMORE.
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
Environmentalism at one time made sense to me back when I was a young man, but it's emphasis has gotten far beyond anything that resembles common sense.
As far as I can determine, the Federal gov't has allowed them too much access to taxpayer dollars for the real good that they actually do. First of all they are all Liberal Socialists to the very core even when the Gov't itself, is Capitalist Republican at times. The people within the Organization should be totally replaced when the next opportunity arises. Replace them with straight thinking people. Cut off their funding until they decide to listen. It's time to fight back with them running the whole Nation.
There's no such a word in their language as compromise. It's beyond me that the Congress has allowed them a free reign in whatever it is they want to do,including unlimited funds to do it.
Like any other Gov't organization, they should have regulations governing and limiting them to what they can demand outside the realm of common sense. At some point in time, different Gov't sponsored organizations need to be reined in because of the misuse of money and discretion. Not often enough, I might add. However, this has not happened with the Environmental Protection Agency. The all too powerful EPA. It has grown to the point of absurdity and is causing a tremendous waste of Taxpayer dollars and private money that stretches into the trillions of dollars in the past 20 years. It's largely due to their power combined with a lack of the need to compromise.
It's far past time that a correction was made.
It's just fine with me that environmental preservation be maintained in order to control abuses that truly do cause harm, but that hardly seems to be the point anymore. Any laws to be passed need to be with room for exception and discretion. But because of monetary influence, our Congressmen and Legislators are allowing the environmental groups to totally name the game. No exceptions, no listening to reason and no compromises period.
A lot of their rules would be thrown out by a sincere U.S.Supreme Court if the challenges were ever allowed to get that far by the the lower Courts. They're Constitutionally unfounded. In fact a lot of State laws aside from the environmentalist ones are unconstitutional.
Local laws are quite often Socialist rather than Constitutionally sound. Labor and Industries presumes a Contractor is guilty unless he can prove innocence. This is the exact opposite to the Constitutional presumption of Innocence until proven guilty. And you have to post a $200.00 bond in order to contest the fine.
Anyway I don't want to get away from this environmental issue. With L.& I. you can at least compromise the circumstances. With the EPA, it's unheard of.
They don't care about the circumstances. They don't care who their decision hurts and they don't care what it costs our own Gov't as long as the man with the ponytail gets his way.
Let's just set their issues aside until we get this country back on track at least. If they can't compromise or be willing to come to terms, Suspend their powers while we get things done.
I'm sure I make at least as much sense as they do. Just sayin'.

I LOVE MY COMPUTER BECAUSE, I CAN SEE MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY

If someone had told me in 2010 that I would be operating a computer in 2011, I would never have believed it. Simply because, being 75 years old in less than a month, I hadn't even wanted to turn one on, let alone operate it. I could not imagine learning a new revised English language especially fabricated for computer use. Why did I buy one? Well, it was a moment of weakness inspired by previous suggestions from my oldest daughter Kim over a period of recent years, that I should think about purchasing a computer to stay in touch with the family. Whenever she would visit me from Canada, she would bring her laptop with her to show me the latest videos and snapshots of my other children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Kim recently recovered from Leukemia treatments and we had just lost her older brother and my son, Allan, to a brain tumor early in 2010. After thinking all our bad luck was over, for a spell at least, I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. I was scheduled for 44 Radiation treatments on a daily basis. After completing treatments and thinking I was good to go for a few more years, It was discovered I had 4 major blockages in my heart and eventually received 2 operations to correct that as well.
I wasn't really surprised, upset or frightened by this, since I had already been preceded in life by the death of my two oldest sons and always felt, if it was my turn, so be it. Why not me?? Since I sincerely believe there's a God and a life after this one, why not? The whole episode brought me closer to my family and ultimately, that was a good thing.
In planning for the treatments early in 2011, I wondered what I would do with my Idle time.
I always had a "flair for the pen", and having taken courses in letter writing in a past life, I thought about writing things from the past. Just anything, having lived a colorful life,so to speak.
I was in Office Depot in Mt Vernon doing some other business and leaning on the counter while it was being taken care of. As I looked down, I spotted a flyer advertising a laptop computer with $200.00 off the regular price. It was a flash in the pan moment and I bought it.
After I got it home, I announced to my wife, who was already computer friendly with one of her own, what I had foolishly done. She looked at me with a "deer in the headlights" look, we both laughed and she wished me luck and all that. With her computer being of a different kind and her just learning as well, compatibility was at a minimum. My impatience wouldn't help either.
It sat for a couple of months until Kim's next visit. Surprised as all "get out of here!!", she patiently began to show me the basic things needed to learn it. And learn it I tried!!
First of all the lingo was totally foreign to me. Cursor and all that. My cancer treatments began and I busied myself attempting to learn the darn thing. My spelling was suddenly atrocious and It took me the longest time to just write a short note. There were soon to be two cursors involved. one is spelled different.
One day while working for a lady who just happened to be a computer whiz, and made part of her living repairing and programming them, she asked me to bring it by and she would program some shortcuts for me to make it a little easier.
The instant she sat down, she began having trouble typing anything. Her spelling wasn't any better, and after a half hour or so, she bypassed my keyboard with a remote one of her own, to discover my keyboard was faulty and needed replaced. Just my luck, right?? I had purchased a computer with a defective keyboard. No wonder the bad spelling!
The drama continued, because the computer was under warranty, it had to be returned to the manufacturer. Six weeks went by before it was returned and things went back to normal. Lee, the computer lady, reprogrammed it for me and with further patience on her part, I was finally on my way.
With her help, she set up a blogging page for me and I started in. It was therapy for me in more ways than one, and I have enjoyed doing it ever since. It not only causes me to refresh my memory on happenings of the past and brushing up on my English literature, but it allows me to clarify anything I may be dubious about, by just typing in any question on the internet and the answer is right there in front of me.
It's great for blogging because I can express my opinion with facts to back it up. With the few short years I have left, there's little room for falsehoods or misconceptions. Besides, if there are other people reading my blogs, and they can, I want to be telling truth as I have perceived it.
It helps them and me to learn the other side of the story sometimes, I mean no malice to anyone who reads them. Just sayin'.

THE "FAST AND FURIOUS" DEBACLE, WHO'S ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE?
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234@hotmail.com
The Commander in Chief has dodged his responsibility once again! The art of "Liberal/ Socialist Deflection" is at work once more and so far successfully. (Seminar Liberalism that's explained by me in an earlier blog.)
Eric Holder, the U.S. Attorney General is being asked to resign for his skulduggery and masterminding of the secret, underhanded, black market sale of weapons to the warring drug Cartels operating along both sides of the Southern border.
Some of those weapons were proven to have been used in the murder of two Border Patrol Agents trying to prevent drug smuggling into the U.S. recently. The weapons sales were done by the
ATF, ( The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms), under the guise of trying to find out where the weapons being smuggled from the States, were ending up in Mexico. WHAT???
Even though some of the agents involved say he did know, Holder denies knowing anything about it happening. Clearly, he's hoping there will be a "fall guy" that will deflect suspicion away from him, before it goes too far .
TOO LATE MY FRIEND!!!!
The head of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, was the first top authority to hear about it and didn't report it to the Justice Dept.(Eric Holder) for two months, supposedly. Do you believe that, first of all??? I don't believe she didn't tell him. I think she was attempting to cover for Eric Holder in hopes the news would not be found out by Fox News. But it was!!!
Do you think that Barack Obama didn't Know? Really?? Do you honestly think Barack Obama wasn't in on this operation? Because of his devious behavior of the past in avoiding blame for the Acorn underhandedness, the Solyndra scandal and now this? I believe he knew.
What I can't believe is how even the "Seminar Liberals" can go along with his deflective rhetoric.
Even if he didn't know, he should at least be man enough to take ultimate responsibility for it, being the man who appointed Holder to the Attorney General's office. Just sayin'.

YOUR TAX DOLLARS HAVE PURCHASED $70,000.00 WORTH OF OBAMA"S BOOK ON "DREAMS OF MY FATHER"
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
And distributed them to State Dept.s around the world. To quote the Washington Times10/25/11:
The State Dept. has bought more than $70,000.00 worth of books authored by Pres. Obama, sending out copies as Christmas gratuities and stocking "key libraries" around the world with "Dreams of my Father" more than a decade after it's release.
The U.S. Embassy in Egypt for instance, spent $28,636.00 in Aug. 2009 for copies Mr. Obama's best selling memoir. Six weeks earlier, the Embassy had placed another order for the same book for more than $9,000.00,federal purchasing records show.
About the same time, Embassies around the world, like the U.S. Embassy in South Korea, had the same idea and spent more than $6,000.00 for copies of "Dreams of my Father".
One month later, the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, ( Where Obama went to school as a child) spent more than $3,800.00 for hardcover copies of the Indonesian version of Obama's "Dream of my Father" renamed "The Audacity of Hope", records show.
A review of the expenditures in a Federal data base did not reveal any examples of State Department purchases of books by former Presidents George W. Bush or Bill Clinton.
The purchases of Mr. Obama's literary work mostly, but not always, took place in the months after Obama captured the White House.
Leslie Paige, Spokeswoman for a watch dog group called"Citizens Against Gov't Waste", said "If the Federal Gov't is looking to cut costs, eliminating purchases of Mr. Obama's books would be a good place to start."
I didn't read the book, nor do I intend to, but I did read about his father. If Barack Obama had lived the life of his father here in America, he'd be in jail today or dead from driving drunk into a tree.
He might think about writing a book about his Grandparents, who I'm sure taught him any values he might have today. He was not raised by his mother or father. No detriment mean't to him. He was the crafty one. We were the gullible ones.
I wonder if his book is worth reading in the first place. I'm sure it's been written in the "Seminar Liberal/Socialist" language. Just sayin'.

A WAY OUT OF BEING BUFFALOED BY THE LIBERAL/SOCIALIST REGIME
email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com
read my blogs http:/macgeo1234.blogspot.com
For too long, the Liberal Socialists have manipulated the opposition by the use of what I consider "Reverse Psychology." They accuse the Opposition of doing, or having done something, that they have already done, or are about to do themselves. This serves as an effective cover for their own actions.
They are way ahead of the curve compared to the Opposition when it comes to the art of Deflection.
For instance, when the Socialist Regime is caught doing something considered underhanded and it has been habitually done on a regular basis, they manage to dig out a singular instance that was done by someone within the Opposition back in 1942. They generalize their accusation by simply saying the Opposition had done it as well. It's surprisingly effective in convincing the listening sheeple that it's now okay to do it. It prompts me to ask you, "Do two wrongs ever make it right?"
It took me some time to realize what they were doing. It's part of the training process within their organization through closed door meetings and Seminars. As I pointed out in a previous blog, they all have the same habits of overtalking the opposition when it comes time for the Opposition to speak. If it's on a Main Media Liberal program, the Moderator very seldom stops them from doing it. It's also referred to as "filibustering", often used by "Seminar Liberals".
Another tact they very commonly use is to bust out laughing or smiling broadly when their erroneous statements are challenged and obviously wrong. This is mean't to deflect from the point the Opposition is trying to make. If you'll take note, our President Obama leads them in these ploys.
The Opposition and the listeners need to stick together and challenge them for using these tactics.
Deception in sales is frowned upon by savvy consumers. Why not politics?
They're easy to spot if you pay attention. Ponytail, beard, sandals, bow tie, pipe and their fly's open.
Ask yourself this question; "Would I buy a car from this man?" Just sayin'.

WOULD RICK PERRY THROW THE REST OF THE REPUBLICAN HOPEFULS UNDER THE BUS TO WIN THE NOMINATION?

First off, I was really impressed by the sincerity of all the hopefuls who started out on this journey to begin with. They were and still are that way. Then someone decided to convince Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, to throw his hat in the ring.
Although he's a handsome young man with a typical, enhancing, professional politician smile, he still qualifies as the "Old Fart" style of politician we were hoping to get rid of in WA. D.C. today.
Sure he may fit right in as the Choice of Texas, but he doesn't fool the rest of the U.S. voters who are requiring someone who needs to know what he's talking about and recognizes the urgency to get the economy back on track. Rick Perry is doing a miserable job of convincing anybody, because he jumped into the race thinking all it would take was charm. He's mistaken! He has found himself in the middle of a group of earnest individuals who DO know what they're talking about and they're outshining him to a point of looking silly! His interrupting and overtalking is typical of a method used by the "Seminar Liberals" and people are beginning to get wise to it, thank God!
His spoiled boy behavior is coming out in his rhetoric. But he's acting like he's willing to throw the whole affair under the bus if he doesn't get his way. His charming smile isn't going to save him in this debate with the Heavies who know what they're talking about.
The other hopefuls would be wise to trashcan this guy so they can get on with the discussion at hand. He's belittling all of them.
The "Prayer of Serenity" should be heeded by this guy and goes like this:
"God grant him the Serenity to accept the things he cannot
change,
The Courage to change the things he can,
And the Wisdom to know the difference."
Let's hope he recognizes the difference!
Right now, he is an embarrassment and an insult to the intelligence of the the other bright, capable candidates.
Please, someone, get this Dummy off the stage. Just sayin'.

SHOULDN'T WE SEND A COPY OF THE U.S.CONSTITUTION AND BILL OF RIGHTS TO LIBYA THE NEXT TIME HILLARY CLINTON VISITS THERE?

Or has she already done that? Since it has worked so well in the past 250 years here in the U.S., and we want them to be a true Democracy, why not? A Republic like we are so proud of being.
In fact, shouldn't the Congress actually require our Representatives to do so? It would show that regardless of who runs our Gov't, we all firmly believe in abiding by those 2 documents, come hell or high water! I mean, it's so important to the electorate, the law should require that they do it!
It would be a wonderful boost to Libya's provisional Gov't right when it would do the most good. It's actually a perfect time for it. Why, we as a free country, should feel honored and proud to know we would be pointing them in the right direction. A sense of guilt should occur if we don't!
With the sales tact that President Obama has, he would be the perfect man for the job.Come to think of it, isn't it a part of his job? There should be no reason for him to have a problem with that!
I doubt he would have any objection to it at a time like this, the way he just loves to travel on that plane he's been using during his campaign trips. Just jokin', I know he's allowed that privilege, being the President and all.
But seriously, being the President, shouldn't he be more than anxious to do that? Or would he be more inclined to let them adopt the European way, kind of like he's really trying to do here? The European way is inclined to follow the Marxist philosophy. That's about 1/2 way to Communism, my friends.
Oh oh! Update: The Provisional Prime Minister has just announced the country will adopt SHARIAH LAW. So much for that Democracy! Why did we waste our money on all those drones and bombs, already? Fox News reports that Al Quaida' Flags are flying at the top of every School and Gov't building in Libya already. Do you suppose Obama's Drones and bombs didn't know they were going to aid Al Quaida's placing them there? With Obama's micromanaging, You bet he knew!
Shariah Law is definitely not compatible to Democracy as we know it. It's like trying to make chicken soup with camel pee, it's not gonna work! Look it up on Google!
Don't think our President didn't know all along this was going to happen. He did! He was standing in the shadowy background, WATCHING!! Just sayin'.

Because of a Democratic/Socialist Bill passed under very, "behind closed doors" circumstances, the following is about to happen whether the general Populace likes it or not. It was emailed to me by a friend this morning.
We're going to be "force gifted" with a Health Care plan we are FORCED to PURCHASE and FINED if we don't! Which purportedly covers another 10 or 15 MILLION people without adding a single new doctor, but provides 16 THOUSAND new IRS AGENTS.
It was written by a committee whose Chairman admits he DOESN'T UNDERSTAND IT and PASSED BY a CONGRESS WHO DIDN'T READ IT, because they didn't care since they are EXEMPTED from it.
And signed by a President who HADN'T READ IT EITHER in between CIGARETTES, along with funding ADMINISTERED by a TREASURY CHIEF WHO FAILED TO REPORT $150,000.00 owed in unpaid taxes, prior to being appointed to Head the IRS. (Doesn't this stink so far?)
All for which we'll be TAXED FOR FOUR YEARS BEFORE ANY BENEFITS TAKE EFFECT, by a Gov't which has already BANKRUPTED SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE, and financed by a country that's already BROKE!!!
All to be overseen by a SURGEON GENERAL who is also exempt and well overweight, I might add!
What the hell else could be possibly wrong with this picture???
Pray that the Supreme Court overturns this bill!!! Just sayin'.

Pray that the Supreme Court overturns this bill!!! Just sayin'.

ENOUGH ALREADY ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON!!!

The trial on who's responsible for the death of Michael Jackson goes on and on. It's time they put an end to the Circus of blame, don't you think?
The entertainer was talented even as a child to a point considered unequaled by any other little performer. He enjoyed the adoration of all ages of fans because of his astounding music and dance routines. He was coveted by his family and friends and hovered over by the Press all his life from little duffer to well into adulthood, including the moment he died.
Nonetheless, at some point in his life, he needed, like the rest of us, to grab the bull by the horns and say, "Thanks for all your attention and help, but I think I can fly on my own now." I guess for many reasons, some other than his own, he never managed to do that. The taste of money was satisfied by many sources who cashed in on his talents, including his family.
To what extent did his own siblings, including his mother and father try to intervene in his lifestyle of drugs? Were they too busy enjoying their own lifestyle while paying no attention to his? They can feel as morally responsible as the doctor . They should take as much of the blame!
This leads me to be reminded of the meaning of blame and responsibility. It always seems that when something goes wrong in a system of management, be it human or Industrial, someone should be made to take the blame. Someone or something must be blamed in order to satisfy the get-even appetites of those affected. Everyone is reluctant to take the blame in fear of having to suffer the consequences.
And then there's the Question of Who or what is responsible as an end result. That's usually more difficult to arrive at because accepting responsibility often leads to faulty management at the top. If the investigation is allowed to continue long enough and in a fair enough manner, the principle of the whole affair may have to resign, taking down a lot of his helpers with him, or before him, in some cases. In this case, "Michael Jackson took himself down, taking others with him."
To point the finger at one individual in Michael Jackson's case is the wrong thing to do, in my estimation. The doctor clearly did his best in a bad situation. He may have been guilty in playing a role in the events that lead up to Jackson's death by trying to satisfy Jackson's demands. But the ultimate responsibility was Michael's and no one else's. Michael bore and ultimately still bears the responsibility.
His bad decisions were responsible for his demise. He's gone. Morality and the fans should live with it.
Just sayin'.

ATT. SENIORS>>> AARP IS NOT JUST NONPROFIT FOR SENIORS!!

As they would lead you to believe. Not by a long shot! The idea of marketing by means of one group representing many independent insurance companies is the principle AARP was founded on. They simply sell other companies products from a central distribution point under the facade of being a non profit organization.
According to a hearing advisory from the Committee on Ways & Means, an investigation is underway to determine the ethics of the means they use to sell medical insurance to Seniors. As far as I know the probe is ongoing.
Quote; AARP has long held itself out as the preeminent non profit organization representing America's Seniors. However, many do not realize that AARP collects billions of dollars each year through the sale and marketing of insurance products.
Additionally, memberships on AARP's corporate for-profit and tax exempt non-profit boards overlap. (For tax purposes it smells of hanky panky.)
Given the committee's responsibility to conduct rigorous oversight, jurisdiction over Medicare and sale of Medicare Insurance products, and sole jurisdiction over the tax code, the committee will review AARP's organizational structure and finances.
AARP is known for being the largest and most well known seniors organization in the country. But what americans don't know is that AARP was the 4th highest spending politician lobbying organization between 1998 and 2010 or that the AARP brand dominates the private Medicare Ins. market.
As a result of their very generous contributions to the Democratic/Socialist regime, they no doubt receive a front row ticket that places them a step ahead of the the private ins. Co.'s who aren't willing to give AARP a stipend for marketing their product.
In wishing you to think they are the only ones to sell products covered by Medicare, they are not.
There are lots of medical Ins. Companies out there who would give you a reasonable deal minus the cost of belonging to AARP's program besides. They are forever politically involved in encouraging us as voters to vote for the Democratic/Socialist ticket. There's nothing sacred about these people. In the recent AARP ad's closing statement, "These are the only programs for Seniors endorsed by AARP."
Don't be fooled by this false rhetoric. SENIOR INS. PROGRAMS DON'T HAVE TO BE ENDORSED BY AARP!!! Just sayin'.

A REDNECK'S PRAYER
I started out to type a note, I really don't know how
I'll dot my i's and cross my t's, and try it anyhow.
Went to school grades 1 thru 12, and thought I did quite well.
Geography did well by me, but spelling B's were hell.
The nouns and verbs were tough to learn, vowels even worse
Social Studies weren't too bad, but Math was such a curse.
Grade 5 was tough enough to do because of misbehavin'.
Miss Dickens kicked me out one day, because I wasn't shavin'.
I've made it here a grown man, and struggled all the way.
But I still have a vote to cast, when it comes voting day.
And when it comes and someone says, I'm sorry you can't vote,
I'll take the Constitution Lord, and stuff it down their throat.
Just sayin'. By George.McNaughton2

DEBORAH BRADLEY, MOTHER OF MISSING BABY LISA IRWIN. GUILTY?
Email me macgeo2345@hotmail.com

I hope not, and don't think she's guilty of anything. Getting inebriated in her own home is an unfortunate privilege afforded anyone who does it in the privacy of their own home. I would say, if you drink, you've done it. Kids asleep or no kids at all. If you haven't done it, you aren't missing a thing.
I consider myself a pretty good judge of character and I see a very distraught, deeply tormented lady who misses her 10 month old baby, Lisa Irwin, as much as anyone possibly could.
So far, there has been no proof at all that she did anything other than drink wine in the supposed safety of her home.
If I was her lawyer, I would be advising her to say nothing. Why? Because she doesn't remember a darn thing about what happened anyway! She appears to be terribly desperate to get her baby back, as any mother who loves her baby should.
I'm amazed at how the media would bring suspicion on this woman and prolong it there, even though they don't have a shred of proof she did anything wrong. They're making it appear as though she has, just by the fact she was drinking in excess that particular night the baby disappeared.
I see a mother who is so cornered by suspicion, she only wants to stay alive long enough to know if her baby is dead or alive. If she is found alive and well, her mind might survive all this. If she isn't, and it doesn't matter who is to blame, she'll probably end it all. Not just because she lost her child, but because people are going to blame her anyway.
My wish is that you will all leave her alone. Just leave her be. Just sayin'.

FERNIE, B.C. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ON STRIKE. Approx. 1946 CHOCOLATE BARS AND POP WENT FROM A NICKEL TO A DIME.

I'm not positive of the year but I know I was still in the Catholic School and the grades only went to 6.All the buzz in our house among my older siblings,(3still at home), was about all the students in Fernie public High School, (300+), going on strike from school for 1 day. The news was out in the Fernie Free Press, a weekly issue, that the stores were going to raise the price of pop and chocolate bars from a nickel to a dime. I mean, come on! We were just coming out of the rationing era caused by WW2 and the Great Depression, and they were gonna do this to us? After all, with Fernie being a remote, coal mining area in the heart of the B.C. Rocky Mountains, coming out of the Depression was about 10 years later than everywhere else in Canada. As far as I'm concerned, anyway.
The protest parade was all organized and coordinated with the School Board so as not to interrupt the schedule too much. The officials were for the kids getting a fair break on top of it all. The parade time was set and all the townspeople gathered on the sidewalks of Main St. to see it take place. Including us little kids.
The high school band started down the street with great gusto and all the teen age marchers following very proudly with their signs waving. The onlookers lining the street began cheering them on as they passed. The 5 pubs and all the businesses emptied out to take in the affair too.
It wasn't uncommon to see tippy-toed bar patrons at 2 pm in Fernie. After all, the coal mines operated around the clock in those days and even when the bars were closed, there were bootleggers aplenty.
It was a sight to see and hear, and thrilling to be part of the crowd.
The parade marchers had grins a mile wide when they marched on by, waving there make shift signs as the band played on.
I don't think there was anyone on the street at that moment, who wasn't proud as could be of the kids in the march. I remember some onlookers in tears and the goose bumps I had to this very day.
It's a great reflection in time.
Sadly enough, the price of pop and chocolate bars went up to a dime shortly after anyway.
The thing I'm proud of most though, is they didn't go roaring down the street busting windows of the helpless shop owners, burning cars along the way and shouting anti Capitalist slogans.
Although their efforts were in vain, they peacefully behaved in a way the townsfolk of those days were proud of, I'm sure. Just sayin.
