THE FACTS ABOUT SOME OF OUR MOST VALUABLE RESOURCES.

                                              email me    macgeo1234@hotmail.com

The first of our natural resources I would like to talk about is coal. There are so many misconceptions concerning the use of coal in the environmental communities and so much ignorance as to the uses of this valuable maceral that I feel it should be explained to those who would be willing to read and understand. I don't expect environmentalists to comprehend it because it matters not what the explanation is, they will shake their heads in "no" anyway. However, I feel the surest way to get the message across is to give the message anyway, regardless of their powerful, minority status. Which it is, because of many reasons whether they be puritanical due to ignorance or because of money in one way or the other.
First off, coal is not a mineral as most people would refer to it as. It is a gathering of volatile materials referred to as macerals with the most valuable being carbon.
There are 4 classes of coal depending on their types of maceral contents.
The most common are the following:
Anthracite being the purest of macerals and therefore the hottest burning and most desired for heating and the smelting of iron ore.
Bituminous being the most desirable for the making of carbide steel to different levels of strength due to it's content of the grade of bitumen called Coke. Coke is one of the closest relatives of pure carbon. Diamonds being the purest, to my knowledge.
Lignite is a lower grade of bitumen mixtures and is used principally for the purpose of burning and heating. It contains more contaminants undesirable for the making of materials requiring strength. However, coal in general has many byproducts used in many different domestic products  in the manufacturing countries of the world today.
Graphite is lower in bitumens and used in the production of pencils and printing.
Peat is the precursor to coal befor it comes under pressure from the weight of the earth.
Peat was very commonly used for burning and heating purposes in past centuries.
The purpose of my explaining this as simply as I can is to show you how important coal is to the modern world we are used to living in.
The environmentalists, in their quest for a "clean" or "green" earth would abolish the use of coal in it's entirety regardless of the consequence to them or the rest of us in  the much larger majority.
The current Administration is agreeing with them and is in the midst of imposing stiff regulations to curtail the use of coal and all other fossil fuels without reasonable regard as to what we have readily available to replace them.
How absurd and ridiculous can they be? This is a very important concern, because the graduation from coal to alternative means of energy needs to be done in a gradual length of time in order to accommodate the cost of doing so. Alternative energy at this point in time is far too expensive compared to the use of coal. With the economy the way it is right now, the extra money required to make the transition is horrendous and unsustainable. The present cost of producing electricity with coal is 22 cents per kilowatt hr. Right now, the cost of producing alternative power by windmill farms etc. is amounting to 22 dollars per kilowatt hour. Ridiculously unaffordable to the taxpayer, and only because the Obama Administration wants to satisfy the EPA by doing it sooner. Again their is no common sense compromise by Obama or the EPA here. I'm not saying to ignore the desire for cleaner air entirely, but with some more reasonable length of time to develop filtering costs etc. "Rome wasn't built in a day", so to speak.
It is complete ignorance on their part and it's intentional on top of it all. They know better but don't care. How careless is that?
There are methods of using coal in a clean, efficient manner and all we need to do is support the research of those ways and assist Industry so they can afford to develop them. Japan has achieved it and so can we.
Education in fossil fuels needs to be a priority but our socialist educators won't allow it.
Once again it's the tail wagging the dog even though they are a pitifully small part of the American majority.
Stand up for fossil fuel production, folks! For now that's all we have that's affordable for the present.  Just sayin'.

THE DOWNHILL SLIDE OF BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA HAS BEGUN!!

                                            email me     macgeo1234@hotmail.com

And it couldn't be too soon. Any sensible thinking, Christian minded supporter of his would be wise to leap from his bus, even if it's still rolling. For Pete's sake, what does it take for America to realize what an anti-american he is and always has been?
Just listening to the garbage coming from him and his administration's mouth right now makes me sick to my stomach.
This man and his regime of appointees simply cannot make an honest speech if their lives depended on it. Of course you have to watch Fox News to get the real truth about these people because you're not going to get it from the Socialist, Main Media. They're staying away from reporting what's happening in the news right now because they've all been caught red-handed with their drawers down.
Are the Chicago thugs going to be let off the hook once again? They are robbing the american populace blind.
The bare faced lies they've been telling are only brought to light by Fox news and it seems to be every time they open their mouths. It's totally ungodly in any reasonable human's standards.
The discussions that take place in public gatherings have been getting more intense lately concerning this bunch and it draws the involvement of more and more people into the conversations.
But there's always one thing that seems to remain the same: the rhetoric that comes from the mouths of the Obama backers! They behave defensively in the same manner with remarks meant to interrupt the point you're trying to make when it's your turn to talk. They become loud and begin to over talk the point they know you're going to make. It's done on cue as though they were all taught this stuff in the same classroom. Maybe they were! College teachers, left wing journalists, left wing teachers, left wing union leaders and all the rest of those left wing supporters. Their words are the same, their questions are the same, their statements are the same, and their denials of the truth are the same.
The word ungodly suits them all well! Please listen to Fox News, people. At least be fair to yourself by know both sides of the story. It truly is fair and balanced. Take notice of the news you hear that the left wing media will not tell you if their life depended on it.
Keep looking in your wallet as well. It's a great reminder of what they've done and are doing to you. It's also a reminder of what they have in mind for you.
They all believe that the traditional american way is a waste and that you should try getting by on a little less money. But if you listen to and watch for the regulations they're creating, you will also see they are making exceptions to the rule by way of waivers for their political friends that support them at the polls. There hard line, Communist way of thinking only applies to us, my Tea Party friends.
It's time to speak loud and clear, Silent majority! Cause if you don't speak now, You won't have the freedom of choice to speak louder later. It really is that serious!     Just sayin'.

TO THE VICTIMS OF 9/11-2001

                                            Email me      macgeo1234@hotmail.com
I can almost feel the pain and anguish suffered by the totally innocent people who were victims of the Osama Bin Laden terrorist attacks on 9/11,2001. I try to put myself in the place of the passengers aboard the airliner that hit the first twin tower.
The sudden anguish at realizing their last moment of life was about to end and not even having the time to wonder why. Gone in the wink of an eye! None of which were responsible for the affairs of the world except to go to work to pay their bills. Then the despair of the people in the tower getting hit and not knowing how or why.
The flames that prompted the people, some of them on fire, leaping to their deaths to escape the inferno and destruction. the shock suffered by the witnesses on the ground, just having to bear witness to the sight and screams that occurred at the same time.
Then a repeat of the same to the other tower, and having to watch in shock and horror once again.
The third plane flying into the Pentagon with similar, burning destruction.
Once again the confusion,  pandemonium, pain and death to innocent lives.
Lastly, The imposing, imminent pain, terror and death to the passengers of flight 93 who fought for their lives and those of the Capitol building they knew they were going to fly into if they didn't heroically resist. they did, and although losing there own lives in so doing, saved the lives of many others in Washington D.C.
Victims and Martyrs, innocent to be sure.
AN ODE TO VICTIMS AND HEROES ALL.
If I could pluck you from your resting places and hold your souls close to my heart, I would.
If I could soothe the pain and anguish you suffered facing impending doom, I would.
If I could only reason as to why the devil sent his evil doers to offend you, I would, but can't.
But I can grasp your hearts and bless them as I yearn to hold them to my chest tonight so you can feel my heart beat for you as I slowly fall asleep.
R.I.P. my beautiful friends, as I'm sure your Maker is taking good care of you.
   Just sayin'.

THE CHAMELEON-BARACK OBAMA

                                            email me      macgeo1234@hotmail.com

I've been recounting the behavior of Barack Obama since he officially took office early in the year of 2009.
He immediately assumed the position of not only the president of the U.S., but as the President of  ""The New World Order." A ficticious position , but none the less a position that he took very seriously and hopes to achieve somewhere in the near future.
Now lets look at him the way he was then.
He was a confirmed Muslim, baptized their way and all that, and raised in a Muslim town in Indonesia. He was certainly taught the Muslim ways as a child and presumably lived with American grandparents who obviously had a different view of Capitalist America than the average american family than what we are familiar with here.
I can't put enough emphasis on the fact I mentioned in an earlier blog that when you are raised a Muslim, you become a Muslim forever. The Muslim faith believes in this so strongly that they would rather put you to death than let you change.
We have witnessed those "honor killings" right here in the U.S. as well as other countries around the world. There is no allowance for compromise.
The problem for him was, when he moved to the U.S., He could see no future in advancement in politics by proclaiming to be a Muslim, so he took up the role of Christian knowing he couldn't really abandon the
Muslim faith. What State did he decide to advance his political career in? Illinois! Specifically Chicago!
There's no question as to the reputation of Chicago politics. The state is famous or infamous whichever you prefer, for producing the crookedest politicians in the world, let alone the country of the United States of America. Massachusetts seems to take up second place.
Now feature him going to american colleges for further education that are the most extreme left wing as you can get, and what do you come up with? A typical anti-american with a voice we all wish for, the gift to read a teleprompter as though he's making up his speech as he speaks and a man who can convince and lie to you without any feeling of guilt. Because in the Muslim faith you are allowed to lie if it will further the cause of Islam.
Believe me, he is not a Christian!
You can look for a long time, but you will never find a man more self centered than Barack Obama. It's his intention to bring America to it's knees, never to have the ability to rise again as a free Capitalist nation.
You cannot find a more egotistical,power-hungry man than him.
The unions will be defeating everything they ever fought for if they follow the ways that Barack Obama has in mind for them.
In his latest economic recovery speech, He said his 1/2 trillion dollar job recovery program will get americans back to work. He the added it wouldn't cost us anything. He's lying through his pearly white teeth! Since we already owe 14 trillion dollars we can't account for, where's he going to get it? It's going to come out of the pocket of every consumer like you and me no matter if he takes it from the "Rich".
The "Rich" are going to get it back from us.
His selfcenteredness has put him in the precarious position of trying to fulfill his greed for power that he is betwixt and between.
The recent killing of Osama Bin Laden was not something he wanted to do. I believe he was confronted by his own appointees that day and virtually dragged kicking and screaming into the warroom to fulfill the task of ordering Bin Laden dead. I believe he had no choice under the circumstances.
Now he has no choice but to achieve all the power he can get in order to survive between the Muslims and the Modern world.  He's fighting for his Greedy life! Beware of what he's capable of doing!!
    Just sayin'.

THE TAKEOVER OF LIBYA'S QADDAFI REGIME. FOR BAD OR GOOD?

I've been following the revolt in Libya. Today Barack Hussein Obama is waiting to make a statement on  the status of  the takeover. I can hardly wait to hear what the future "New world Order" hopeful is about to say. He's been walking on eggs very nervously concerning his own stability so he has to be  careful what he says. You see, his own life is at stake right now regarding him taking any position on who is going to rule who?
Both factions are Muslim, so although we are aware of  Qaddafi's quest for revenge by the bombing of  the Pan Am 103 flight over Scotland, he has in recent years complied with the rules of the Geneva convention, sort of, more or less.
The problem is, the revolting faction just happens to be Muslim too!! Amid rumors that Al Quaida may be supporting the invading forces, we may be worse off than before!
Can someone tell me where the U.S. is going to stand here aside from the supposing of the press.
I can tell you this much. Barack ain't gonna gain votes either way. That's why he's keeping his mouth glued shut. Which is what he should have done two and a half years ago!
Hang on to your seats, folks. This is gonna be interesting. Just sayin'.

A STORY OF 3 LITTLE GOLDFISH.

                                            email me    macgeo1234@hotmail.com
                                      Read my blogs     http:/macgeo1234@hotmail.com
Over the past 20 years I have occasionally been requested by a bank or mobile home park owner to go in and clean up an abandoned mobile home that had been repossessed by the mortgage holder.
It's always a sad affair because there's usually children involved that totally have no control over what's happening in their life.
Anyway, when it happens there are always signs of depression and sorrow left behind. Sometimes, like in this case that I took on last week, the occupant left in a hurry and took only what seemed to be the clothes on their back, leaving behind furniture, electronics for children, T.V. sets, clothes and bedding, photographs of the family and books including bibles and prayer books.
It was difficult for me to not wonder just what went on that would cause it to happen. In this case it wasn't dirty and smelly but terribly messy. The sleeping bags and bedding including pillows were still there  as though the family had just disappeared off the face of the earth.
My curiosity caused me to ask some of the neighbors if they knew the situation with these folks, and no one was really able to give me insight except to say the husband had divorced the lady and left her with 3 children. One older teen age son that was slightly retarded.
Now I know that people who get evicted for various reasons, usually a lack of money, are given a date when they are supposed to be out and off the premises. So when that date comes and the reality hits them that they must leave, they often times have made no preparations to move. On the last day they make their hasty retreat, leave town unannounced and say goodbye to no one. Shame of the situation sets in and they leave no forwarding address because they don't want to be harrassed by creditors involved. Nobody can reach them.
This is so sad. They also think that they can't go back for any of their belongings for fear they would be trespassing. So they leave it all behind forever.
Time after time, I have attempted to get word to them so they could at least come back and get their belongings, but to no avail. So off to the dump it goes. 2 tons of it in this case. It was heavy on my mind  as I decided to drain the 30 gal. fish tank they had also left behind. I got it about half empty when a little gold fish appeared looking directly at me. I did a double take and there it was for sure. A closer look and there was  a black one there too! It was hard to believe my eyes since no one had lived there for over a week. Then a third, beautiful white one showed up! All staring at me.
The water was murky and there was a strong odor of ammonia emitting from it, which indicates contamination. I immediately quit draining the water and went on cleaning up other things in the room.
I couldn't help but glance back once in a while and every time, there it was looking right at me. It was as if it was asking me to help. I went home that night with that little fish pictured in my mind.
Early the next day I returned to the place and when I entered the room, I walked over to the tank and couldn't see any of them. Although there was a jungle of foliage where they could hide, I thought they might have passed on, but as I was about to turn away, there they were. Staring at me again. I worked again through out the day and once again went home that night with them still on my mind but intending to take them out of the tank the next day . My intention was to take them to Petco in a baggy full of water to see if they would take them. I'm not much of a pray'er but I whispered a little prayer that they'd be kept safe. It became an obsession with me to not let them die. After all, the medical profession didn't let me die when I needed them a few months earlier!
Early the next morning I headed over there, this time with a baggy in hand. I unlocked the door and immediately walked over to the fish tank. There they were, looking at me as usual.
The night before, my wife had suggested I might try calling PetCo. As a last resort, I called them. I talked to the manager and was very pleasantly surprised to be told she was wanting to have some more for her collection at home. To add to my pleasure, she was delighted to know she could also have the 30 gal. tank and equipment to go with them.
Later that afternoon, she arrived with a friend to help her remove them and with no further adieu,
drove off into the sunset, thrilled about their catch.
I drove home as well, knowing I had made the whole works happy. It was a great feeling and I mused happily all the way home. No hero, just happy!     Just sayin'.

THE PASSING OF MY BROTHER DUANE AT 86 BRINGS MEMORIES.

At the age of 6, I remember Duane volunteering to go to war for the Canadian forces who had already been engaged on Britain's behalf against Germany in the Battle of Britain.
This was a brave and unique thing for him to do since Duane was born in Eureka, Montana and was an American from the day he was Born. Our family only moved to Canada after he was 7 years old. However, I suppose because 5 of us younger siblings were born after the move, he felt there was a duty to defend the Country he actually grew up in. He joined the Canadian Paratroopers Red Devil Brigade and underwent basic training in preparation for the uncertain future that was in store for him.
It was certainly an adventure that would stay in his memory and ours for the remainder of our lives.
I remember his coming home on leave before shipping out overseas particularly well, not only because of  my memory, but because of his reflections to me later in years.
Just 2 doors down lived the Civetarese family with 3 sons that Duane and my older brothers grew up with. Alf Civetarese was approximately the same age and he had joined the Navy in order not to be drafted into the Army first. They were otherwise inseparable friends. Coincidentally, They were both
home on leave and scheduled to be shipped out at the same time.
It was a time for them to celebrate together before that time arrived and they proceeded to do just that.
Of course with Duane's basic training, he was convinced he was the toughest guy in town. Now maybe in some ordinary city, that could have been the case. He was soon to find out it was definitely not! Fernie B.C. was a rough and tumble coal mining town amongst another half dozen or so that harbored some rugged, tough people and Sonny McCormick was one of the town's toughest.
Duane decided to engage himself in a fisticuffs with him at a local dance just before shipping out the next day. Gosh, was he a sorry sight when he boarded the train for Halifax, Nova Scotia. He remarked to me years later that he faced the upcoming enemy with a little more respect. He faced them in France and Belgium after that.
When the war finally ended and the Allies shipped their weary troops home, Duane got off the ship in Halifax and headed for the nearest bar, it was heavy on his mind concerning the present welfare of his closest friend, Alf Civetarese. He didn't have to wonder long. Above all the noise and clamor, there was an argument taking place on the other side of the bar. There was Alf!!
Now considering the fact that Fernie B.C. was 3,000 miles away from Halifax, what would the chances be of them running into each other? Wow! But they did and the celebration began there, all the way home and then some.
They both married, raised families and remained close friends their entire lives, although living  countries apart for years. They both became barbers with Alf living out his life in Trail, B.C. and Duane in the Seattle Wa. area.
I'll try to tell the story as I recall it.
Right at the time of their return, when I was around the age of 9, I was hospitalized with a mysterious stomach flu and spent a week in the hospital. Back in those days, the nurses dressed in formal, white uniforms and were highly regarded as they attended to the patients in need with their little white hair pieces and accompanying white, soft walking shoes. I remember the great, attentive treatment from a particular nurse named Angie Delpuppo. She was so nice to me. Some weeks thereafter, as I was playing in our back yard in the middle of the day, I could here someone up the hill from our place singing "Meet me in St. Louie, Louie, meet me at the fair". As I looked upwards I saw Duane come over the hill with a lady on his arm and as they got closer, I realized it was Angie. They had just met and he was bringing her home for our family to meet her. As a child, what a beautiful surprise that was to me! I knew her before he did!
They were married shortly after that and made up residence in Eureka, Montana just 40 miles away.
I had the pleasure of spending summer vacation as a child there with them and I'll never forget it.
For a couple of years, Duane and our older brother John worked as fallers in the woods for a local logging company. In those days the falling was done by hand with a double handed crosscut saw.
Winters were cold and snowy much the same as Fernie and of course anti-freeze wasn't too popular yet, so they had to drain their car to prevent the radiator and block from freeezing at night and then refill it in the morning to go to work. They had to repeat the process to come home. Sometimes the car wouldn't start right away either. I think I learned the working man's language partially from them.
I remember them being overjoyed at the invention of the 2 man chain saw that took place right at that time. What an innovation in logging that was!!
With our oldest brother Stanley living in Seattle, Wa., Duane and Ann were inspired to move there and Duane enrolled in a barber school to eventually opened a shop on Aurora avenue. Angie resumed her R.N. career and together they spent the rest of their lives in the Seattle/Puget Sound area.
At the age of 14, I visited them for a couple of weeks and Duane taught me how to strum a guitar which I enjoyed so much He gave it to me to take home to Fernie. Along with a harmonica, I played it for years after.
In later life I returned to live in Seattle and along with the rest of my Siblings, We enjoyed a lot of  McNaughton happy hours on Friday nights along with his son Dewey and I playing the guitars together. Those are memorable days and Duane loved each and every one of them.
Thanks for the memories, Duane. There are many more of them to talk or write about. I only wish you were here with us to enjoy them. You always will be in our hearts, Brother.
Thanks to the McNaughton family for the great reunion last week-end!
   Love you all, George.

A DOUBLE A + CREDIT RATING I'VE ALWAYS DREAMED ABOUT.

After watching the news concerning the U.S. being reduced from a triple A credit rating to a lowly Double A plus, I have to wonder why they haven't passed this on to the rest of us Tea party people in the past and up until now?
After all, I probably only owe $20,000.00 to all of the creditors concerned. My credit rating is the equivalent of a Triple "F".
As I understand it, our great ruling Congress and President Obama have just ran our National debt up to 14 trillion dollars.
As a taxpayer, how in the hell am I gonna pay that off when I can't even pay my own bills. Huh? Tell me someone, would you please? So where did our Country get a Triple "A" from in the first place?
As I listen to these minority Socialists talk about taking from the rich and giving to the poor, I wonder,
What kind of credit rating should we grant to the Socialists? Or have they already given themselves a
Triple "A"? I mean in my world I either earn the money or I borrow it with the intention of paying it back. That's the only way I ever get my money. So I have a suggestion to the Socialist "givers".
Earn it first. Or borrow it with at least the intention of paying it back on the basis of your credit rating. Then give it away. But don't give away the money I can't even afford to give away myself considering my credit rating.
Take my advice. You tried. You lost. Now get lost!   Just sayin'.

TO OVERCOME POVERTY. TRY WORKING FOR A LIVING!!!

I just finished watching "Sunday Morning" where they threw in their usual, disguised, free promotion for Liberal Socialism. It seems Charles Osgood just has to squeeze it in there every Sunday morning no matter what.
Today it concerned poverty. It was moderated by an unknown minority to me but a a very well trained speaker. Probably coached by Barack Obama, a champion at such a thing. He was appealing to us to support people in poverty. Never once did he mention anyone trying to help themselves.
You see, under Socialism, the government will help them by re-distribution of wealth. That way, no one will have to work, kind of like what's happening in Greece right now.
Aren't they a great European Union example of Marxism? Everybody's retired, that is when they're not rioting, burning cars and breaking windows in the businesses that are attempting to create an honest buck.
They've already re-distributed the wealth until there's no wealth left! There's no wealthy left to help them anymore. DARN!!!
I was born into a family of 11 children, me being the youngest of eight boys and the tenth in the whole brood.
My mother raised the family totally by herself since my father was only home long enough to create another child and leave again to parts unknown. As a result, through the depression of the thirties, we experienced poverty firsthand. But through all of this we never lived in dirt or squalor as they like to show on T.V. We had one bathroom for all of us and a ringer wash machine that my mother spent an awful lot of time at. Our home was never messy and always clean. with the convenience of a 75 ft. outdoor clothesline, our mother made do with what she had to work with. God bless her forever and then some. Hanging out clothes in subzero weather was quite a feat for her, believe me!
She never complained although we would occasionally see her sit off by herself and cry while we ate what there was in front of us. Sometimes there would be deer venison to supplement the food supply of garden grown vegetables. Other times our dinner would be fried oatmeal paddies made from the left over breakfast porridge of that morning.
From the ages of 12 or 13 we all jumped at the chance of working in the summertime  to help make our lives just a little bit better. We all learned early in life that if we worked for whatever the pay was, we got money. If we didn't, there was nothing. But we couldn't sit and wait for the money to come along like everyone is used to doing now..
With the welfare society we've grown into today, people are being born into a ready made system that they can get by on from birth to death without ever having to do a good days work.
The town we were raised in was in a cluster of coal mining villages twenty miles or so apart from each other and smack in the heart of the Rocky mountain Range between B.C. and Alberta. Our average snowfall at the time in Fernie, B.C. was 18 ft. There were times we had to shovel the snow away from the windows to allow adequate light in the rooms.
The traditional thing to do when you got out of high school was to board the coal company train and travel seven miles up the valley to apply for a job. You had to do this 3 times before being hired.
After one trip I choose not to go that route and was fortunate enough to acquire a job with the engineering branch of the B.C. Dept. of highways. I never looked back except to say one of my better days was seeing my home town in the rear view mirror.
I do believe a lot of the poverty in the U.S. is self preferred or self created. I know from personal experience it can be overcome.  Just sayin'.

THE EARTH LOST A SWEET LITTLE ANGEL IN CAYLEE ANTHONY

Being a lover of children doesn't make me an expert on how they live and how they've been treated.
I do know that in my entire lifetime, I have loved the little tykes. They are definitely the one pleasant  thing in my life that was and is a way to dreamland in a very innocent way. When I held a child and presently hold one as well as a grandchild or great grandchild, I become the softest, most loving
man in the world. It's just that way.
There's nothing perverse about that. It's a beautiful heavenly feeling to say the least.
I was thirteen years old when I first began babysitting around our neighborhood. My first babysitting was for John and Sibel Worthington. Their first baby was John Worthington Jr. and they lived right across the street from our house.
I was continually over at their place when he arrived at home and being asked if I'd like to watch him for a few hours once in a while was a real treat to me. They paid me for doing it but I would have done it anyway. My mother and sisters were right across the street if I had a problem.
After all, my mother raised eleven of us by herself, so I wasn't worried. Could you ask for a better advisor? I think not.
Sadly enough though, Just the other day I heard that he passed away as a result of alcoholism. I feel remorse because I still see him as a little fella that I loved very much.
Which brings me to think about poor little Caylee Anthony. I'm not going to point fingers or cast guilt on any particular person, but obviously someone committed the crime. There's someone who killed this infant and that party is and always will be a monster. The crime was committed in the absence of God. There will probably never be a sense of guilt to whomever did it. Mainly because people who don't believe in a punishment in the hereafter tend to be self serving as a result. There's no sense of guilt whatsoever. I'm not a saint, but it doesn't stop me from saying "God bless America"

IS THE U.N. TRYING TO TAKE US DOWN AND WHY? Brought forward from it's 2011 edition.

In a disturbing report this morning on Fox news, the U.N. is planning to advance it's stance on the
World Health Organization's Gigantic plan on turning the world "GREEN".
To the tune of 1.9 trillion a year. 79 trillion over 40 years.   This is not something I dreamed up, folks.
So I have to ask this question: Has the U.N. out lasted it's purpose for which it was established?
The U.N. was founded in 1945 after World War #2 to replace The League of Nations. The reason for this, as I understand it, was because the League of Nations  had forgotten it's purpose and corruption had wiggled it's way in to the point it was no longer functional.
The U.N. was established mainly to stop wars between Countries and to provide a platform for dialogue. It now consists of multiple subsidiary organizations with missions other than just conflicts between countries who are members.
There are currently 192 member states, some of whom are so poor they don't pay anything to belong.
They just kind of hang in there for the benefits. Although it's own identity, the Vatican is not recognized and is not a member.
The U.N. consists of six principal Organs: The General Assembly, The Security Council,The Economic and Social Council,The Secretariat, The International Court of Justice and The United Nations Trusteeship Council.
It has since added other system agencies such as The World Health Organization,The World Food Program and the United Nations Children's fund.
The U.N.s top Figure is the Secretary General currently known as Ban Ki Moon of South Korea.
The six official languages are: English, Arabic,Mandarin Chinese,French, Russian and Spanish.
It's location is in International territory in New York City.
I gathered from the Fox News Report that the U.N.s future aim is to follow the Marxist cause, mainly wealth redistribution.
This can only mean one thing. The death of Capitalism that this country has thrived on for 250 years.
A simple deduction is only needed here. When you're on the top, there's no place to go but down.
The U.N. has become just like it's predecessor, the League of Nations. Corrupt, dishonest and of no good use to the free countries of the world. They only get by on our money.
With the help of Al Gore and to his financial benefit, The Liberal left successfully convinced the innocent people of this country that the diminishing Ozone layer was contributing to global warming.
It took years of convincing that this was so. To the detriment and admonishment of our former Wa. governor, Dixie Lee Ray. The environmentalists degraded her, the Liberal Press made fun of her and
the Grant receiving research scientists made her out to be a liar when she said the hole in the Ozone layer was a re-occurring phenomena that would go away.
Dixie Lee was an accomplished Scientist who knew what she was talking about.
Forgiveness is not a word in my book for them doing what they did to that good lady.
Now you don't hear the phrase "Global Warming" anymore because  it's been proven by Mother Nature herself  to have been a false moneymaking scam.
So now the same people have dreamed up a new scam they can benefit from. "Climate change" is the new word in the U.N.     Just sayin'.

THE SAFE ZONE POEM.

      email me     macgeo1234@hotmail.com

                       "THE SAFE ZONE"

I dream up my blogs while I'm doing my chores
While I'm cleaning the walls in the bathroom
I grimace while cleaning the toilet room floors
and sweep up the dust with the whisk broom

I make up my bed and I sing little songs
And even hum tunes of my making
A whistle will do as my heart sings along
My wife doesn't know what I'm baking

My comfort in this is to raise up my voice
And sing out the things in my dreaming
I humor myself and feel joy at my choice
I look in the mirror and I'm beaming.

I say what I want cause I know very well
I'm safe in expressing my wishes
It's true I assume that I am safe as hell
No man's been killed doing the dishes.

ON A DAY LIKE TODAY- JULY 4th. INDEPENDENCE DAY

                                           email me        macgeo1234@ho9tmail.com

To think of today as not just any day but the day this Country gained it's Independence from England.
A time when taxation was too overwhelming for the landowners to bear, brought on by a Monarchial  country that was dominating the rest of the civilized world.
It was viewed by the Colonists as "Taxation without representation".
Try to picture the trials and tribulation the new people of this great country endured to avoid such an unnecessary, additional burden placed upon them. To go to the effort of transforming their "plowshares to swords" so to speak in order to resist and repel the dictatorial and monetary demands of a nation some 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
Imagine the heart wrenching feeling the men had in their stomachs and the women in their bosoms as they watched their ragtag, makeshift army march off to fight the largest most organized and well equipped  army in the world at that time. Just to face the fear that they may never see each other again.
The question heavy on the minds of the mothers as to who would come home if and when to harvest the crops, gardens and venison to feed them through the coming seasons. Pretty tough breeds of people to say the least. Our army won and we survived to become an Independent, proud Nation.
In 1914, World war 1 came along and our European friends needed help to fight a war they were so badly losing to Germany and it's aggressive Allies. Once again the warriors of this country volunteered to help and defeated the enemies of our European friends. Millions of people died in that war. Hundreds of thousands of Canadians and Americans alike died for the sake of people who didn't even live here. One more time our Countries were victorious and went on to prosper as free Nations, second to none.
War reared it's ugly head once more in 1939 as Germany and Japan began invading the free, friendly Nations including Britain. With America sending vital supplies to help the survival of our European allies under siege, war was declared between the U.S. and Japan with the Invasion of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th,1941. Germany declared war on us at approximately the same time. Many American and Canadian lives were lost in that one too. Once again, We won.
All of these battles were fought not for the sake of fighting a war, but to protect and save the integrity of  our precious freedom. Our Western countries knew that with the fall of our European friends, we could be next on the list to being forced to succumb to Dictatorships.
Then came Korea, then Viet Nam and the tens of thousands who died for the sake of freedom for our friends.
Our country didn't become the great, free Nation that it is just by accident. We paid for it in human sacrifice and the blood of our dead and wounded warriors. We were the most powerful, independent people in the World not only by defending our freedom, but the freedom that exists in the Allied
 world today.
This weekend is a time for celebration of our success and a tribute to our military veterans who faced fear and sacrificed their lives and spirits to give us what we have now.
I say shame on those who would apologize to the rest of the world for what we are or have done defensively in the past.
We are what we are and owe no apologies to anyone. A retired General once said, "I wonder who dislikes us the most? The ones where we kicked their ass, or the ones where we saved them?"
Have a great long week-end, Patriots! God bless America!   Just sayin'.

SECURITY IS ALIVE AND WELL AT OUR COUNTY JAILS

Today I realized I had to pay my traffic ticket fine before July 1st or I would be assessed a further penalty.
The ticket I was issued came by way of the State patrol in Skagit County.
I'm usually quite careful of speeding on the State highways in my work truck because anything over 55 miles an hour means the steering wheel tries to jerk out of my hands every time I pass a gas station.
Anyway, when I received the ticket I had just been notified by my doctor that I required radiation for my Prostate cancer and was headed for his office to arrange for the treatments. That distraction did cause me to speed momentarily after leaving a traffic light on Highway #20.
The patrolman would hear none of this and issued me the ticket with a look that said "drop dead".
It was appropriate but I didn't succumb, obviously.
I went to pay the ticket at the County bldg. on Kincaid St. but wasn't sure where to go, so as I was passing a Security guard, I asked him where I would pay it. He cordially told me to go across the street to the Jailhouse but advised me that I should lock anything metallic including my cellphone in my truck to avoid a problem at the security check. So I did, including my truck keys!! Realizing what I did
caused me to reach for my cell phone which of course wasn't there! I then went into the Licensing bureau not far from me and explained my dilemma to her and could I please call my wife on her cell phone.
She was more than obliging except she was not allowed to call a 425 prefix and that's what my wife has. No way could she be persuaded to let me use her phone. I left and in passing another victim who had just paid his fine, I asked him if I could use his cell phone. He mercifully allowed me to. I then proceeded through security where two overzealous guards gave me the once over including a partial strip search. They asked me how much I weighed and I responded, "240 dink on the sink". I was then allowed to pay my fine.
My wife arrived shortly thereafter with another key and my problem was finally solved.
It seems to me that having to pass through that sort of intense security just to pay a traffic fine is a little overboard. A bulletproof drive up window would certainly be adequate, don't you think?

THE ABSENCE OF GOD AND THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.

                                             email me     macgeo1234@hotmail.com

I don't profess to be a religious person, but I'm certainly not foolish enough to deny the existence of a Supreme Being either.
I do know that a Universe as wonderful and mysterious as ours could not have happened by accident. Be that as it may, there was a set of rules handed down by someone who apparently understood what could happen to the human race if there weren't any. Without the guidance of rules for an animal who has the ability to think, reason, plan, communicate by speech, laugh and cry we would only be like the other animals of the earth. We definitely are not!
Because of this, I feel truly grateful to whomever granted me these gifts. Since nobody can come up with a better name as far as I'm concerned, I'm going to follow the lead of much wiser humans before me and call him God. I'll attempt to go by his wishes that are clearly described in the Ten Commandments. They are simple enough to understand.
I just know that I feel like a happier person when I know that I've tried.
I don't frown on anyone who chooses to select a religion they're comfortable with, regardless of their individual rules and beliefs, as long as it points us all in the same general direction.
Believing there is a punishment or reward in the hereafter is obviously a good thing. It gives us something to look forward to if we behave ourselves. That's simple enough, isn't it?
Just go by the simple rules!!
God must be a part of what we do. It's the absence of God that permits humans to do harmful things they otherwise wouldn't do.
Which brings me to my main point of writing this blog.
We must teach God's rules to our children in order that the human race will survive in an orderly way. God's rules are generally the cornerstone of the laws of this nation.
It's in the absence of God that people rob other people. It's also in the absence of God that people take the lives of other people to satisfy their own selfish needs. If there's no belief in God there is no moral reason not to commit a crime. Laws become meaningless in a moral sense.
So maybe someone can explain to me why anyone would not want God's rules to go by. Until they do with any sense at all, I'll guide myself by my God given conscience and be happy with that.
I want something to look forward to when I pass on. What's wrong with that ? Why would anyone else want to deprive me of it? And why on God's green earth should I allow them to?
Which brings me to the incident within the Democratic National Convention, at which time Barack Obama's henchmen deleted the word "God" from the official DNC platform.
Now, if there were any doubts whatsoever whether they are an Atheist inspired group, there isn't anymore. It's as clear as the ears and sardonic smile on Obama's face. Only after it was discovered by "Fox News", and a lot of ruckus raised, did they add it back in again. Hopefully too late to have not revealed their true cause. It's a Marxist Regime.
It's my hope that you honest Liberals reconsider their obvious intentions for this Great Country.
   Just sayin'.

WHY WOULD THE LEFT WANT A CHANGE TO SOCIALISM?

                                             email me      macgeo1234@hotmail.com

Has anybody noticed that the Community Organizers who are registered members of the Democratic/Socialist Party are actually well healed themselves, not from living under Socialism but by living their lives in a free america that flourished under Capitalism? Capitalism that put them through college by way of student loans they probably still haven't paid back?
Capitalism that gave them the free market capabilities to do as they wished with their earnings?
A country that flourished with jobs created by people who produced something for a dollar and weren't totally collared by a choking Socialist tax system that brought other countries around the world to their knees, time after time?
All of these people who are pushing a Socialist agenda down our throats did not achieve their wealth  under a Socialist system! Some of them earned it honestly, some of them milked the system. But I can bet you this much. They already have their piece of the pie and they don't care if anybody who isn't with their program makes it or not!
They see their chance for a power grab, not just over the United States of America, but with the chaos that's going on in the world today and being led by Sneaky George Soros, control of the whole world by means of "The New World Order".
Sounds far out, doesn't it? It's not.
If we wish to continue as a free, Capitalist Nation, You will ignore their promises of Wealth Redistribution and vote for someone else who isn't Marxist minded.
Elmer Fudd has better sense than Barack Hussein Obama.
It's the Haves, not the Have-nots that are pushing that show and if you're a "Have-not" now, you're gonna be a "Have-not" the rest of your life if they get their way.
Stay with "God Bless America" my friends. Just sayin'.

THE ILL BEGOTTEN HABITS OF THE LEFT. JUST SAYIN' part 2

                                            email me       macgeo1234@hotmail.com

To continue with my observations of the way the Democratic (Marxist, Atheist faction) operates, Its amazing how they are so much in like behavior to each other. They all have the same way that on some mental cue, no doubt when an important point is made by a Republican, they start over-talking the opposition so the speaker has difficulty making his or her point.
It's a habit that they all have without exception. As annoying as it is to the listener, it seems to work! They continue to smile all the while as well. Allen Colmes, a totally indoctrinated lefty, is great at this. It is terribly rude and I believe should be dealt with as such by whoever the moderator is. Dealing with this is tough because if it happens on a lefty channel, the Moderator is a lefty as well and simply allows it to happen.
Sometimes they flat out lie about what they are saying, just to be able to keep up the lingo to disrupt the speaker. I'm convinced it is orchestrated from the very bowels of the leaders of the Democratic (Marxist Atheist faction) party. They have been working on this strategy for a longer time than you might think. It is sinister, well thought out and Godless to say the least.
These are dedicated people who are deeply committed to change this country to a Socialist State. By doing this, they would bring our nation to it's knees and in line with the wishes of the lesser, failed countries of the world.
Lying to the innocent voter doesn't matter, as long as they achieve their goal of putting us under the control of the "New World Order".
Being truthful is a part of our religious beliefs, in accordance with the God we know.
It means nothing to them. Being self serving is a religion to them.   Just sayin'.

WHAT"S ANTHONY WEINER WAITING FOR?

Does everyone like me wonder what Anthony Weiner is holding out for before he resigns?
Is it promise of a permanent pension? Or does he automatically receive a full pension?
Does he receive it right away? Or does he receive it at the age 67?
Does he still receive the same medical coverage if he resigns?
Can he receive a posh job elsewhere in Gov't and still receive his pension?
Since his wife is Hilary Clinton's personal assistant, can they pull strings to find him a job in some lobbyist's private Co. Possibly as a lobbyist for hire himself?
You don't really think he is hanging in there because he feels loyal to his constituents do you?
After watching him flat out lie to save his butt, could you believe anything he says anyway as a trusted member of Congress?
Or are we all waking up to the fact that he is just trying to load his portfolio for the future with everything he can get his hands on before he thumbs his nose at us and leaves.
No matter what happens, this guy's got it made anyway.
He's one of the untouchables because he's probably in the know about a whole lot of other Congressmen and women who have skeletons in their closet. I think he's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to scandalous members of the Congress and the Senate.
Just ask Barney Buttbanger. If he isn't perverse, I don't know who would be!   Just sayin'.

THE STORY OF HALLOWEEN APPLES IN FERNIE, B.C. CANADA

I was born in Fernie, B.C. Canada on November 23rd, 1936.
Being the 10th child of a family of 11 and the youngest boy of 8 brothers, I know what growing up in a large family is all about. It was a tough time to be born in, and a tough, coal mining town to be raised in, nestled amongst a half dozen other towns throughout an area called "The Elk Valley" in the heart of the Rocky Mountain Range.
The scenery was exceptionally beautiful with the mountains looming around and above us in a 360 degree exposure, typical of what you see most anywhere in the middle of the Rocky Mountain Range. To travelers passing through in any one of the four seasons of the year, it was breathtaking in it's four definite changes of the seasons.
Because of it's elevation, large snow accumulation and short summer growing seasons, it was not a favorable area to grow fruit such as apples, pears, peaches and other kinds of delicious foods. With fruit trees being considered of the hardwood variety, they weren't hearty enough to withstand the extreme below zero temperatures. They would split, and no longer able to hold the sap, die.
However,Not far away from this valley and into the rolling foothills, the season changes were less severe, and after a drive of 135 miles and close to the American border, lay the town of Creston, B.C. In contrast, It's rolling countryside was ideal for growing fruit. Orchards were everywhere and  a delight for us to see when we travelled there on sporting trips to play inter-league hockey and basketball. In fruit picking season it was a real delight to walk down any sidewalk and eat off the trees that had branches hanging over the fences and heavy with fruit.
In comparison, when we could be having snowball fights in Fernie, the kids in Creston could be having apple fights.
Apples in particular were always considered to be in short supply and rather expensive to the average family in Fernie, especially our family. To the extent that when a kid came to school with an apple, the first one to say "Cobbs on ya" got to eat the core! When he or she was finished, all that was left to do was spit out the seeds.
All these towns were just struggling out of the Great depression and at a time when commerce was fighting to survive, the farmers in Creston were having a hard time getting a profit out of the fruit they had harvested. Ironically as a result, they were dumping their apple and fruit harvests in the Kootenay river rather than suffer the cost of shipping to other areas.
All at a time when we would have loved to have those apples in Fernie!
To emphasize the chronic shortage of apples in our town, when Halloween came around each year, the people would give out apples instead of candy as a rare luxury to the kids.
We would take pillow cases and go door to door hollering, "Halloween apples" instead of "Trick or treat". We would then store them in our root cellars and basements to be enjoyed at Thanksgiving, Christmas and sometimes beyond. Every once in a while, I wish, (even though I know it's not likely to happen,) that all of us who did the Halloween thing back in those days could all get together again, don our masks and different garb and do it again for old times sake. Some of the gang are gone now, but they could still be with us in spirit, and shout at the top of our lungs, "Halloween apples!!!"
God bless them one and all!
And "Jake", especially you my friend, I hope you'll be listening! Alan Neidig, Davie Lockhart, Johnnie Hartley, Peter Elkington , Larry Sedrovic, all my friends I went to school with, You too!! God bless you
A fond memory that will stay with me forever.  Just sayin'.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN '82 RECESSION AND NOW.

I won't pretend to be an expert on recessions but I am trying to make sense of what's going on with this one and why it's different from the Recession of 1982.
In the prior one when President Reagan was only a little over one year in office, There were as many jobs to regain when the recession started to recover as there were when it occurred. In other words, there were the same jobs to go back to and the main productive workforce could resume living the same life at the same rate of pay as before. Only better, because as the economy improved, even more private sector, dollar productive jobs increased. By saying dollar productive jobs, I mean dollars earned by producing something that was worth at least a dollar and could be passed on to produce more than a dollar from somebody else. It's a money generating thing that makes the dollar strong on the world market and as long as we're producing something for each buck they print, it stays at least worth a dollar on the world market.
Something has been produced to represent it.
Then came the World Trade Organization. Without caring about the consequences or at least not thinking far enough ahead to realize them, they began sending raw materials to the underprivileged, third world countries who could process them and produce finished products to be shipped back to the countries who could then purchase them for quite a bit less than anything we could produce here.
Quality went out the window and the words"MADE IN U.S.A." became a distant memory.
Every Corporation in the merchandising business jumped on the band wagon and started importing
any product that could be placed on an airplane, train or ship.
For that and many other overinflated reasons, America began to run out of productive dollars.
A good portion of the productive dollars still being made here were transferred by immigrants to other parts of the world. Seasonal workers who go back home in the off seasons.
The terribly overpriced Real Estate Market took a nosedive and brought the rest of what was left of the economy down with it.
The problem now is, There are no more productive jobs to return to since they have all been shipped overseas and are going to stay there.
Enjoy the new Socialist established economy, Folks. Just ask George Marxist Soros. He and Barrack Obama can explain it all to you. And while you're at it, ask them what a productive dollar is to the laid off american worker.   Just sayin'.

THE TAIL'S WAGGING THE DOG.

Yes!!! The tail's wagging the Dog!
It has happened over a long time, but we seem to have forgotten that the U.S. Constitution was created by a Gov't of people who were placed in that position to manage the affairs of the people who voted them in. The representatives who created the Constitution did it for several reasons. The main reason was because they knew there was a fear of the Gov't forgetting why they were put there in the first place and taking control over the very folks that voted them in.
The gov't has transitioned from representing the voter's desires to telling them how dumb they are and they should succumb to the wishes of  the all powerful representatives.
The Founding Fathers foresaw this possibility of it happening and put in place a Constitution and a Bill of Rights. Well, they were right and it has happened.
They have forgotten why they are there!
You don't think a president when voted into office really has the knowledge and the talent to direct the Congress in their handling of affairs, do you? Do you really? I don't think so!!
I think he or she is expected to learn the  course of present affairs as they exist under the rules of our Constitution and see that they are carried out accordingly. The president, as I see it, is there to assess the managers who are currently in charge of handling our affairs in the various departments of Gov't. and replacing them with someone who is better qualified if he sees fit to do so. In my eyes, the agenda for how to operate a free and powerful country is already there. If there are flaws or misdirections, straighten them out in a manner that's considered fair and still in compliance with our way of life as we know it.
We don't need a president who thinks he is so smart he can change our way of life as he experienced it as a child in Indonesia. Nor as he sees it in the rest of the world.
We, as voters, didn't ask him to assume power over us and the rest of the world, did we?
Did we think he had the experience, knowledge and brains to manage our total affairs as well as the rest of the world? He has never really managed any business in his life.
Why on earth would we think he could manage and change a free society as precious as ours?
He is trying to direct us in how we should live our lives and he has never really been where he wants us to go. He's a true Greenhorn with so much power it scares me.   Just sayin'.

THE BLUEBERRY MUFFIN MYSTERY-WHERE IN HECK ARE THEY?

Today, in a discussion with the Wisdom Crew at Haggen's Starbucks, a serious question came up regarding blueberry scones, muffins and other favorite baking pastries involving blueberries. Now we know in the Fall there's blueberry bushes all over the place in Skagit and Watcom Counties. Yet when the blueberry scones and muffins are put out on display, they are the first to run out and buyers have to be satisfied with something else. Why is that for Pete's sake??? ( By the way , Pete's a part of the regular coffee crew)
It's annoying because we all know there's plenty of blueberries to go around. Just ask Kelley who was born and raised in this valley. And he knows his blueberries!
Is this a deliberate ploy by the local bakeries to promote other berries? Is it a plot or maybe a conspiracy?
I visited the Bakery in Haggen's to find out. I don't think I worded my question right because she retorted that her buns weren't up for discussion.
I then went to the Grocer in vegetables and told him for the folks sake I was investigating the disappearance of blueberries. He replied that there was no folk in blueberries.
I went to the manager Dan and he explained that if the store baked enough blueberry products, that all the other berry muffins wouldn't get sold. this would result in them getting old and would then have to be given to the food banks in poor condition.
Alex conducted his own investigation and said the bakeries he went to told him there was an allergy to blueberries and they were substituting peanuts instead.
Dan, Greg, Jerry, Mike, Karen, Lee and Jim are still picking blueberries and haven't reported in yet.
But we all know there's a political conspiracy somewhere.
My wife read this and said she thought I'd been eating too many road apples and should make an appointment with Dr. Steve.  Just sayin'.

WHAT IS THIS"MEETING BEHIND CLOSED DOORS" STUFF?

The thugs during Prohibition did this! Rumrunner Joe Kennedy did it with Democratic members of Congress on a regular basis.
He was a known thug in those days. Later on when William O. Douglas ( eventually promoted to Chief Justice of the Supreme Court) was first introduced as Supreme Court Justice to the rest of the Sitting Justices, the first man he was introduced to for dinner "behind closed doors" was a smiling Joe Kennedy.
When we vote in a representative to Congress do we want him or her meeting on matters crucial to us behind closed doors? I know I don't!
When we send a member of Congress to North Korea to cut a deal with the North Koreans, do we want it behind closed doors? Nope! I don't! Particularly a congressman who is known for lying under oath such as John Kerry of Massachusetts did during the Vietnam War hearings.
What gets me is the fact that with all the bare-faced lying that he did about his own excursions during that war, the populace there re-elected him to the Senate anyway. I guess the saying " Birds of a feather stick together" means something after all.
When the House led by Nancy Pelosi locked out the Republican members of Congress for the very crucial vote on the 2700 page ObamaCare Bill, they passed it behind "closed doors" without the press or the public being allowed to read it. Did you trust what they did? I didn't.
Can anyone reading this blog explain to me what's in that bill that's not contradictory to another part of the bill?
"Behind closed doors" makes me terribly nervous anymore because I feel the only reason they do it is to avoid the Press and us knowing what's being discussed.
"Compromise" is another word that's starting to scare me. All the bills that Congress passed while the Republican representatives were locked out from behind "closed doors" were totally without compromise. It was probably the most underhanded act I've ever seen in my lifetime regarding Congress.
Now that the Republican Congress is in control of the House, the Hipocrates are accusing them of not compromising. Can you feature that? Sadly enough, I can.
My request to the Republicans is to pass a rule in the House and Senate against meeting behind
"closed doors" without both sides of the political Press being present.
Nobody said it was going to be easy when they chose to run for office.  Just sayin'.

WHO ARE THESE HOME GROWN ANTI-AMERICANS WITHIN OUR BORDERS ?

                                              email me      macgeo1234@hotmail.com

We are a country of Immigrants. No question about that. Because of that we are, as a whole, a nation mostly of people who migrated here for various reasons. Some originally because this continent was a large land of wilderness and unknown resources, thought to be by the rest of the civilized world as a place to live when there was nowhere else to go.
Some of us were sent here as Criminals and Undesirables for crimes as common as stealing a loaf of bread because we were hungry. It was Britain and France who, at the time had little interest in the new land, except for it to be an ideal place to be rid of unwanted humans.
Some of us had really nothing to look forward to where we were, and saw this as a place to at least own our land and be away from the tyranny taking place in our own Countries.
They had heard how the earlier settlers were surviving and able to live on their labors to get by.
Soon,(Figuratively speaking) people from all over the known world were getting word of the New Land and what they could have as their own if they were willing to work for it.
All they had to do was get there! Much more easier said than done, that's for sure. But they did, and by hook or by crook, made their way across the seas and landed here to set up homesteads that would have to be sturdy enough to withstand the harsh winter months that lay ahead year after year.
Just try to imagine clearing enough land by hand so they could grow enough food to make it through the coming winters. Trying to communicate with your nearest neighbor the Eastern american Indian inhabitants who spoke a different language.
There was no choice but to get along and help each other as best they could. They did it though, didn't they? In so doing they created the heartiest, most determined nation in the world. A tougher bunch of mixed races and nationalities had never been assembled in the world before.
They all fought side by side to defeat the Monarchial and Dictatorial nations who, with greed in mind, would have taken everything the unwanted "Throw-aways" had worked for to get where they were.
Most of us are descendants of these rugged people I speak of, and darn proud of it too!
We survived the battles against Naziism, Totalitarianism, Marxism and all the other 'isms I can think of , just to be confronted by a group of people from within our own borders who, as a powerful few, would change our life as we now know and made of it, to a system that has already failed time and time again all over the world.
But you know what? They're about to take on the most diverse, well oiled group of Patriots in the world, and because of the mixed ethnicity, the toughest, bar none.
In light of what's going on today, we need to continue to stick together as one nation. Together we stand tall, but divided we fall and someone's trying to divide us. The old divide and conquer trick is in play as I write.    Just sayin'.

MEMORIAL DAY and VETERAN'S DAY REMEMBRANCES-MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS

                                              email me     macgeo2345@hotmail.com
I'd like to thank my father, John Duncan McNaughton for defending Britain on behalf of  Canada during World war 1. He was a machine gunner and was eventually seriously wounded by the Germans during trench warfare in Europe. He went on to serve in the Canadian Home Guard in World war 2.
My thanks to my oldest brother Stanley O. McNaughton who saw battle in World war 2 as a Squadron Leader in a B-29 bomber and went on to be in the same position in the Korea campaign.
My thanks to my brother Duane McNaughton who fought in Belgium as a Canadian Paratrooper throughout World war 2.
My thanks to my brother-in-law Douglas Winters who practically grew up in our family and served in the Canadian Air Force throughout World war 2.
My thanks to my brother Laurence (Bubs) McNaughton who fought the North Koreans as well as the Chinese in Korea with the United States army.
My thanks to my brother Jack who served in the Korean War as a navigator in a bomber squadron with the United States Air Force and went on to retire as a Major after 22 years of service.
My thanks to my nephew Robert McNaughton who served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was decorated for bravery in Viet Nam and lives in Juneau Alaska, today.
My thanks to his brother Kenneth McNaughton who also served in the U.S.Army and was  stationed in Vietnam. He lives and works to this day with his brother in Juneau Alaska and they both have raised families of their own.
My thanks to Art Palmer, 92,  of Mt. Vernon, Wa, a pilot of a Liberator bomber who,on his 50th bomber flight over Germany, was shot down, captured and spent 10 months in a Stalag prison camp in Germany. We all see Art and his wife Darlene at Starbucks quite often and wish them the very best every day.
Last but not least, thanks to my friend Fred Reed, a resident in my park who turned 93 in March of this year. A true WW2 hero in my eyes. Fred was a 1st Sergeant in the Combat Engineers, Company "A" who was involved in the Invasion of Normandy, right through all the major battles en-route to Germany including the "Battle of The Bulge". His Company was among the first group of Americans to enter Berlin.
It's such an honor to say I'm a part of this family of heroes, and proud to know and be a fan of Art and Fred. Thanks to each and every one! Don't leave us yet Art or Fred! Our hearts go out to you.
May God grant them long, healthy lives and thanks to our family and friend's prayers that brought them all back home.    Just sayin'.

WHAT SOURCE OF POWER CHARGES ELECTRIC CARS? (CONT"D)

                                           email me     macgeo1234@hotmail.com

I already know that the use of coal for generating power can be done in an environment friendly fashion. The Japanese were doing it 40 years ago and making it less costly as a result.
It is done by means of filtering the waste product that would normally be exhausted up the stacks into the atmosphere. There are byproducts produced by the waste products that are used by other chemical and manufacturing co.s which help pay for the cost of the filtering process. It can definitely be done!
There are filtering methods for diesel engines that have been in use for at least fifty years that I know of personally.(I don't mind dating myself.) The method used is by filtering the exhaust through a special water tank exhaust system resulting in only steam entering the atmosphere.
Diesel exhaust produces no carbon monoxide.
It only takes regulation to make all of this possible and it can be done enmasse in the very near future.
I once worked in hard rock mines in Montana where it was done. The Pend O'reille mine in Metaline Falls, Wa. used regular Diesel operated road building equipment underground equipped with water scrubbing exhausts. The supervisors drove around in diesel engined jeeps equipped with water scrubbers.
Now I'm sure the environmentalists will, complete with Gov't grants, find some other negative reasons to keep getting their grants to justify their existence, but believe me, it is all very possible!
What isn't possible right now is to instantly provide a perfect world.
The biggest favor the Congress could do right now is to completely de-fund the totally non-yielding,  bone headed  E.P.A. for five years and get things done that they're standing in the way of. And for God's sake make them cut off there crappy beards and pony tails! For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would want to cultivate something on their face that grows wild on their butts.
    Just sayin'.

WELCOM TO THE WORLD OF BEEPS, DING DONGS, GARAGE DOOR OPENERS AND WOMEN WHO DON"T ANSWER PHONES>

Is it just me? Or does it bother you too?
I go to a place of business and park. I'm bound to be encountered by a short beep of a horn . I quickly look instinctively to see who's acknowledging my presence. They must know me. Nope. No ones waving at me. Oh well, It must be someone locking their car.
But why the horn??? I mean, don't they know they're locking their own car? Who else cares that they locked it? But even more ridiculous is when you hear a horn again and it's someone else unlocking their car. Does the whole world need to know that it's being unlocked? I DON'T THINK SO!!!
It's this remote control thing that some people are addicted to, I bet!
One time, (A long time ago when I could afford it) I purchased a new Lincoln Town car. I was so proud of that car! I parked it in my driveway where I could see it from the dining room window and would watch when friends walked by. I'd beep the horn with the remote and laugh like hell when they jumped from the sound. I should point out at this point that there were several buttons on this thing. I'm sure you understand what I mean.
Throughout the evening I held it in my hand as I watched T.V. and eventually I went to bed for the night. The next morning after a very stormy, rainy night I arose, had breakfast and left for my car. To
my astonishment the trunk was wide open. I had accidentally pushed the trunk button! I cautiously walked over and looked in. There was 6 inches of water in there.
It took me half a day to dry it out with the hair dryer after bailing the water and using the wet-dry vac.. So much for remotes.
Now there's this thing about automatic garage door openers. When you open the garage door to go out to the car, (The garage is for storage as I'm sure you well know) there's a little seeing eye mounted to the door opening that beeps when you break the laser beam with your movement. If you're going to be crossing back and forth all day long that blessed beep just keeps right on beeping. But if you hop skip over the path of the beam it won't beep. The trouble is, you look awfully funny to the neighbors
across the street every time you do it.
I know a doctor who does that! He said he's tried everything but it won't stop! It's really good for laughs, though.
Next, what is it that makes women not answer their cell phone? After discussing it with the over-the-hill Gang at Starbucks, they agree it's a chronic problem! Oh, after a while they realize you called and then call back but with some annoyance at having been interrupted.
Two weeks ago, I called my wife to give her an urgent message. As usual she didn't answer right away so I hung up knowing she would call back. She did. I told her I was at the Hospital with a suspected heart attack. She asked me if  I'd made out my will. When I said no, she said, "I'll be right over"!!   Just sayin'.

MY GRATITUDE TO THE SKAGIT VALLEY HOSPITAL FOR MY CARE.

On Friday, May 6th, at 8.00 A.M. my wife,  Marilyn, left home to go to an appointment. I'm a diabetic and had just taken my regular insulin shot. Shortly after she left , I began to feel dizzy and found it very difficult to move around. I broke out in a cold sweat and my heart began thumping fast and irregularly. I knew something was wrong, but at the time wasn't familiar with a sugar low and how it behaved. Being alone, I decided to call 911.
I explained to the operator what was happening and she dispatched a team of Medics immediately. They arrived within 3 to 5 minutes and went into action in various ways at the same time, including attaching an electrocardiograph system to me. At the same time a medic brought me a peanut butter sandwich to eat. I understand now that it's a common thing to do for a sugar-low condition. After realizing my heart wasn't behaving right either, they prepared me for transport and off to the hospital we went. To me, their operation was performed to perfection.
Once delivered to the emergency room, they continued their work in corolation with the hospital staff to get me stabilized. Within a half hour I was back to what I thought was normal again, except I was to find out it wasn't normal at all. My condition was something that had been slowly happening over a period of years.
The first couple of days involved getting my diabetes treatment adjusted. It meant constant blood testing and through that, realizing there was a heart condition to be dealt with.
The tests kept coming back "inconclusive" but with an indication by enzymes produced from the heart when it's in distress, they were able to determine some sort of flow restriction was taking place.
Eventually a treadmill test showed that a heart cath process was needed to determined the seriousness of the restriction. Doctor Vederah conducted the 2 hourlong procedure and in so doing, was able to penetrate through the blockages he encountered with the catheter. If I understand him correctly, this of course reduces the danger of heart attack until insertion of stents is done sometime in the near future.
I eagerly anticipate the next move.
My most heartfelt thanks to the the Doctors, doctor's assistants, nurses and support staff. Six days under the care of these dedicated folks tells the real story of how stressful and sometimes intense their
jobs are every day. Everyone did their best under the circumstances. Hats off to all of you.
As a footnote to this story, I would respectfully like to suggest to the hospital administration that they pursue a more aggressive tact in communications both verbally and written so it flows smoothly from top to bottom. No specific person was at fault here. Individually they all strove to do their best.
I once gave a crash course in communications to a group of workers that involved staff from top to bottom. To demonstrate how a verbal message can get lost from one person to another, we took the General foreman into a separate room and gave him a message to pass on to his subordinate. The subordinate then passed on the message to his subordinate and so on until it reached the laborer. The laborer came back to me with the story. The story was so different it was humorous to us all. It was an open pit coal mine. The laborer wanted to know if we were on the right mountain range.
Thank you all for your time in reading this memo.
    Respectfully your's, George McNaughton

THE FEAR OF RETALIATION BY DEATH OF OSAMA BIN LADEN

The death of Osama Bin Laden seems to have raised fears of increased terrorism.
My question is, How could they increase what they're already doing or have done? I believe they are at peak capacity right now since we have them desperately on the run. I don't say to relax, but I think this is a big blow to them and as a result they are going to get even more careless about their
attempts at revenge. We have them on the defensive and need to keep them there.
The very protests taking place over his death in different parts of the world tell us who they really are and where. I say strike again while they're out in the open. Every one of them shaking their fists
would pull the trigger on us if they had the means to do so. Why not strike the first blow? They did on 9/11, didn't they?
If they had the nuclear means of hurting us right now, they would have already done so. Give them enough time and they surely will.
I also think it would be only fair to show his pictures with the way he looked in death. After all, the press was ever too ready to show Daniel Pearl get his head sawed off on live T.V. Just sayin'.
